The discussion for this assignment is structured a little differently than a single-topic discussion, so please pay close attention to the directions. Overall, you will tell the class your organization selections of your B2C and B2B companies, share your thoughts about the target audience for each, and last provide your opinions on how each company could benefit from either an influencer or a community. Below is an outline to guide your initial post and your two replies.

Please note, you will write your text for your B2C business covering steps 1 through 3 and then repeat for your B2B company.

 

For Your Initial Post:

STEP 1 - Introduce your B2C organization by providing the following:

· Name of the company

· Short description and the URL of their website

For the two bullets above, you may use what you provided me for week 1.

STEP 2 - For your B2C, provide a brief description of some of the characteristics of your company’s target audience.

· Your company may have more than one kind of target audience, so it’s OK to focus or narrow down to one.

· I realize you most likely don’t have any data or research to base this on, but give this your best thoughts and opinions.

Here are some thought starters (not required to address all of these, just providing to get you going):

· Maybe use one of your business purposes from week 2 to tie into your description of your audience.

· Provide what you think are key psychographics, demographics or any other segmentation characteristics.

STEP 3 -  Describe how your B2C company could use either an online community or an influencer to reach this audience (You only have to choose and write about one).

· What are some of the key characteristics of the community or the influencer that would resonate with and attract your target audience?

Business to Consumer (B2C)

·       Step 1:

Tax2go, LLC

This is a tax preparation company that will prepare your taxes for less. www.tax2go.com

·       Step 2:

Since Tax2Go, LLC has been in business, their main goal has been to serve the local general public.  Although, Tax2Go, LLC prepares business taxes, which includes Schedule C’s, 1165’s, 1120’s. 990’s, bookkeeping, and many other services, their main target audience is their 1040 clients. 

When tax season begins, most clients who come to Tax2Go, LLC are those with regular W2’s with a family.  They just want their taxes quickly prepared so they can get their refund as quickly as possible.  The next wave of clients is those married couple with not only W2’s, but with mortgage statements, medical bill, land taxes, student tuition, and the list goes on.  The business clients usually comes quarterly, just because they are under a different time frame to pay taxes.

Tax2Go, LLC’s passion is helping others, especially when some of the clients are in need of help with tax issues.  Tax2Go, LLC, will walk each client through their tax return and explain everything that is being calculated before the client is asked to sign the return.

·       Step 3:

Since the pandemic, Tax2Go, LLC had to restructure quickly and work taxes from home.  All preparers has to be accommodating and train to use Zoom and Google Meet and be ready to accommodate clients.  Tax2Go, LLC, learned the importance of social media during this pandemic by using Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn to promote the company and the policies regarding COVID 19.  They invested in a VeriSign company to ensure the tax documents that were send out was secure and only available to the client.

After the pandemic, Tax2Go, LLC still embraces the branding of social media and how it helps to get the message to potential consumers quickly than any other means. Tax2Go, LLC could have used an influencer, but that is costly and social media seems to work great for this type of company.

Business to Consumer (B2C):

· The Container Store Group, Inc. is an American specialty retail chain company that operates The Container Store, which offers storage and organization products, and custom closets.

STEP 2 - For your B2C, provide a brief description of some of the characteristics of your company’s target audience.

One of the main target audiences for The Container Store would be young to middle-aged adult homeowners.  Of these age demographics, the majority of them are women looking to improve the functionality of their homes and everyday lives.  With people and young families on the go, creating a more functional and organized atmosphere, there is less worry and stress for streamlining day-to-day living.

STEP 3 - Describe how your B2C company could use either an online community or an influencer to reach this audience (You only have to choose and write about one).

The Container Store has recently launched new branding and content for social media.  The new logo and video sharing on different platforms, now including Tik Tok, have begun to show how and why to use their products.  Influencers have become a new, more prolific way of showcasing their products, garnering the attention of users from the younger adults who are on Instagram, Twitter, and Tik Tok.
