Verizon is one of the largest service providers in the world. They run their business and profit off of data and analysis. Teradata is the foundation of their data warehouse, and they have been teaming with them since Verizon's formation in 2000. The Business Intelligence team reports to their CMO and CFO and includes marketing, finance, and sales teams. Marketing makes up the majority of team members at 50%, followed by 30% in finance, and 20% in IT. Marketing and sales are what Verizon uses to ensure they are making products that consumers want. The finance team ensures that they are making profitable outcomes to appease their shareholders. The IT department prioritizes business product functions over technology-focused solutions to appease the majority of its customer base. They focus on the 7 P's of marketing to ensure they properly penetrate the market. The 7 P's include people, product, place, process, prices, promo, and physical evidence. They use Teradata Unified Data Architecture uses analytics in three different ways to stay on top of the telecommunications market. They use this process to discover new revenue opportunities, within the core business of mobile, and business planning, supply chain management, staffing, and the 7 P's of Marketing. They use data analytics to evaluate the best routes for revenue opportunities within the market. Customer behavior analytics allows Verizon's finance department to see how their customer base operates and how they market to them. Their quarterly churn predictions can be within 1-2% accuracy with their business and data analytics. Verizon employs Teradata to optimize business and technology solutions to bring in the most profit possible while catering to their customer base's needs.
