Monitoring and managing performance of ESX/ESXi 5.5, 6.0 servers and virtual machines.

Specific duties….

· Manage all the Servers for BB&T which are running on the different hardware platforms in Development and Production environments. As a team we ensure that all the servers are up and running fine.

· Managing 72 ESXi hosts, 120 data stores and over 3000 VM’s across three different locations.

· Responsible for Capacity planning ,design, installation and configuration of newly provisioned VMWare ,CentOS , Citrix PVS Servers

· Manage, configure and monitoring VMware Virtual infrastructure that consisted of VMware products such as ESX/ESXi version 5.5, 6.0, 6.5 Host, multiple virtual centers & VMware update manager rand included features such as VMotion ,Storage V motion , Clones , OVA&OVF templates

· Configuring High Availability (HA) Distributed Recourse Scheduler(DRS) and VSphere distributed switch (VDS)

· Manage , configuring and monitoring CISCO UCS 3200 B-series & C series servers, HP C7000 enclosures ,BL series blades and DL series Rack mount servers as well as managing then using the CISCO UCS manager and HP onboard Administrator

· Consolidate the hardware health monitoring of different versions of HP Servers.

· Reduce the administration efforts and consolidate hardware health monitoring.

Computer Network course is needed to how the data is send and received packets and configuring the TCP/IP ports and how to open the application- level protocols on the Cisco UCS manager and VMware Esxi

VMware horizon view 7 administration desktop pools, user allocation recompose VDI’s and Snapshot Image creation.

· Specific duties…

· This is an ongoing project to build physical/virtual Desktops to evergreen Windows older OS versions with horizon view client

· Creating the persistence and non-persistence desktop environment

· Recompose , rebalance and refresh the linked cloned VDI’s on the user windows 7/10 desktop

· Create the Application pools and Desktop pool on the horizon view

· Create and build the gold image and taking snapshots for deploying the instance clones, linked clones and full machine clones on the View

Why Coursework is required: Application security course work is needed to understand the external communication between teradici PCOIP and VMware horizon view client to launch the applications on the Windows desktops

These course work is needed to develop a security administration framework to ensure organization meets its security policy goals to launch the horizon VDI’s

Decommission and commission Windows 2008R2/ 2012R2/2016 Servers and Windows 7/10 VDI’s in VMware and SCVMM Hyper-V Environment

· Specific duties…

· This will be ongoing project to support the Servers Commission and Decommission needs to the VMware environment.

· Expertise in setting up and Managing the Windows Virtual machine ,Hypervisors using the System center VMM

· Create LUNs from different subsystems available in the environment and present those LUNs to ESXI hosts.

· Once those LUNs are presented then add those LUNs as new data store.

· Create Data store clusters in VMware environment and add multiple data stores to it.

· Deploy VM’s and decommission on the data store using Power CLI Scripts

· Datacenter cluster will ease out the VMware administrator storage problems.

· Provide compliance required access to teams who manages different layers of VMware environment.

· Modify VMware access roles according to the requirement and create differed active directory groups and add those groups to the VMware access roles.

· Independently conduct enterprise engagements with customers

· Maintain current knowledge of the entire VMware product line

· Conduct pre-packaged VMware consulting solutions in a timely and effective manner

· Assist in the development of standard reusable VMware productized consulting service offerings, including definition of tasks, deliverables, and standard estimates

· Help to document best practices in developing and deploying VMware solutions

· Deliver vRA/ vRO automation workflows for DEVOPS infrastructure

Provides operational support for SCCM environment, storage and servers

· Specific duties…

· Install and configure EMC Unity 400 and 450F controllers to replace the older arrays in the organization.

· Plan and design monthly patch schedules, DR and production Server Patching via SCCM

· This will reduces the support and maintenance costs of the organization.

· Perform rack installation, OS installation, Storage pool creation, Block creation and presented to VMware environment in the organization.

· Install all flash array to achieve the IOPS requested for the business critical application by the application teams

· Provide file storage subsystem to handle CIFS and NFS protocol for one of the critical BB&T Insurance Custom application.

· Install and configure NetApp FAS8200 in cluster mode for both production and disaster recovery datacenter.

· We will utilize an inbuilt feature to mirror important data to disaster recovery datacenter and mirror the data to achieve disaster recovery.

Deploys Windows Servers 2008R2/2012 R2/2016 and Virtual desktops windows 7/windows 10 with SCCM OSD image using PXE boot

· Manage and configure User and Device collections including creating query-based collections, Deploying Operating System Images (primarily Windows 10) via SCCM OSD. This includes:  Configuring WDS, configuring PXE, configuring the VM build environment, and integrating with Build / Capture / Update Windows 10 images, Manage images (updating of Drivers, etc.), Creating Distribution Points and distributing the images accordingly, Creating a deployment Task Sequence and deploying the Task Sequence, Creating Packages for Operating System Deployments..

· Management of Compliance Settings by creating and importing Configuration Items (CI) and Configuration Baselines (CB).

· Perform advanced troubleshooting and problem resolution, to include but not limited to, issues with site-to-site communication, package distribution, SCCM advanced client and operating system deployment (OSD).

· Create, implement, and deploy images for enterprise workstations and servers utilizing technologies such as Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT)/Windows Deployment Services (WDS), Windows Pre-installation Environment (WinPE) and Pre-Boot Execution Environment (PXE).

· Perform advanced troubleshooting and problem resolution, to include but not limited to, issues with site-to-site communication, package distribution, SCCM advanced client and operating system deployment (OSD).

Build, manage and administration of VMware ESX server infrastructure in Multisite/multi Datacenter environments

· Consolidate different datacenter peripherals to production and disaster recovery datacenters.

· Intended to reduce administrative efforts on maintaining IT infrastructure and also to achieve financial benefit.

· Utilize VMware Standalone converter to migrate Virtual machines from one datacenter to other.

· Perform both Physical to Virtual and Virtual to Virtual conversion.

· Data migration/replication using multiple custom applications like Dell Secure Copy, Roby Copy or inbuilt storage replication technologies.

· Migrate AD users in Cross Domain, Multiple or Single Domain Forest using ADMT tool

· Centralize the monitoring of Tire 0 applications like MS Exchange, Citrix, and VMware environment.

· Our current monitoring tool is doesn't perform extended monitoring of certain applications.

· Involved in the build, manage & administer the MS System Centre configuration Manager 2012 in Test, Dev and Production Environment.

· Maintaining the company standards by creating Incident and Change tickets for any change or deployments in the production environment.

· Creating PowerShell and batch scripts for tasks that needs to be performed in the production.

· Working with various application teams to design the migration process.
