Discussion: Approaches to Research Design

Provide an aerospace example for an approach that illustrates basic research, and another that illustrates applied research. Then, provide an aerospace example that illustrates a quantitative approach, and another that illustrates a qualitative approach. A brief paragraph (3 or 4 sentences) for each is sufficient.
