Add into material here. Describe the relevancy and background of this project and how it relates to unmanned aerospace (aircraft or spacecraft) systems (UAS). The intent of this project is to demonstrate an understanding of the course topics by analyzing, evaluating, and developing recommendations for addressing an issue associated with UAS design, operations, or regulation. You will need to identify the underlying issue or problem to be addressed (associated with current, emerging, or conceptual UAS uses). Ensure you provide sufficient detail to support performance of the following: Comment by Brent: Avoid an informal or narrative tone. · Identify a perceived issue or problem (i.e., airspace challenges) associated with UAS design, operations, or regulations and to the learning outcomes;

· Identify what research design you plan to use and rationale supporting use (see the following for examples: 12 Major Types of Research Designs)

· Establish a sufficient and brief summary of the issue or problem; and

· Provide an accurate, coherent and brief representation containing the concept, characteristics, results and conclusions.

Make sure you support any assertions or identification of “facts” with relevant and credible reference citations. It is important to make sure this section provides an effective summary and develops a coherent, central theme that is supported in a well-structured, organized, and logically-consistent manner throughout. Issue (or Problem) Statement

Discuss and list different sources supporting your central concept, as well as identifying applicability found from your literature review. Make sure this section comprehensively identifies and isolates one specific problem, identifies factors contributing to the problem with accurate details, and substantiates problem statement with external source(s; i.e., citations). This section should be limited to one to three paragraphs

Significance of the Issue (or Problem)

Add information relating to identifying the significance of the greater problem or issue here. Treat this section as the “literature review;” accordingly it should be used to clearly establish the significance of the problem statement, present a strong, well-supported argument based on relevant concepts, theories, and frameworks, and present accurate outcome predictions that support immediate action to resolve the problem. The majority of your evidence indicating the background of the topic will appear here; it is recommended you use relevant subcategories/subsections, as appropriate. For example:

Background

Discuss the background of the issue; expand beyond the brief introduction and problem statement above. Include historical narrative of what has led to and continues to contribute toward the problem; observable effects; perceived results, if left untreated; and further rationale supporting investigation.

Related Research and Development

Discuss who has engaged in similar research; what were their results/findings; have any innovative or possible useful solutions been proposed; what has limited their success in addressing the problem?

Discuss other technological areas with the potential to address the problem; does this technology require adaptation or modification; what are the costs or requirements to use; what is the state of the technology and can it be expected to help address the entire issue or a portion of the greater problem?

Alternative Actions

Add information relating to two possible solutions to the issue, breakup into relevant subcategories/subsections. This section should present a realistic approach to resolving the problem. Reasons for each alternative should be clearly articulated, advantages and disadvantages should be thoughtful and give cause for reflection on the results of implementing one or the other alternative action, and a decision could be made solely based upon the information provided.

Recommendations

Specify a specific recommendation (whether one of the two+ presented under alternative actions or a hybrid approach). This section should present a creative approach to resolving the problem. Reason is clearly out of the ordinary, advantages and disadvantages should be thought provoking, and it should answer the question "What if we tried something completely different?”

Conclusion

Add a description that ties together everything you have covered from a high level and discuss any further recommendations you have based on your findings and/or experience developing this design (e.g., need for follow on research).
