Decision-Making

Among the competencies that need reinforcement is decision-making. Decision-making skills allow educators to choose what is best for their learners. The choices may involve the reading materials, the topics, or even the type of questions used in the assessment. Moreover, educators also play leadership roles in the schools (Council of Chief State School Officers, 2011). Under such roles, they are faced with the obligations of making choices on various issues, which explains why decision-making skills are crucial for educators. Decision-making skills also help the educators to achieve the course objectives outlined in the curriculum. That is because; they can properly plan on how to deliver the content to the learners.

In developing the decision-making skill competency, I have undertaken different interviews. The interviews taken have majorly dwelt on making decisions. Through these interviews, I have learned the importance of making the right decision as an educator. Further, I also learned why educators should make decisions in the teaching and learning process from the interview. Additionally, I gained immense knowledge about the decision-making process, which will be fruitful in my career.

Many Biblical verses can be used when developing decision-making skills. For instance, in Proverbs 2:6, the Bible asserts that knowledge and wisdom come from God. Therefore, based on this reference, I should trust God to help me when undertaking decisions during the teaching and learning process. Another Biblical verse that can be helpful during decision-making is from Deuteronomy 31:6, which encourages Christians to be strong and courageous. Consequently, when making difficult decisions, I will feel courageous and strong about the decisions I make in my profession.
