Read:  Garcia: Chapter 10

Read:  Baker: Chapter 6

Present your CRPD presentation on:  Article 10 – Right to life

Present on Article 10 in the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (file attached).

You should use at least four sources and at least two of them should be scholarly. Your presentation should be at least ten slides and include the following:

1. What does the article (of the CRPD) state? – 5 pts

(Did the student state all parts of the article: Y/N?)

2. From your research, discuss why it is important. Why do you think that it was included in the convention? – 5 pts

(Does the student seem to understand/explain in basic terms what the article does and how it impacts disabled people: Y/N)

3. Support your claim with at least four examples from your research. Two of these examples should be from outside of the United States. Discuss these examples and why you chose them in detail. Do not simply list them. – 10 pts

(Are there four examples? Are they sufficiently descriptive, each addressing some or all the who/what/when/where/why/how questions?: Excellent, fair, poor)

4. Provide three examples of research, advocacy, and/or policy efforts with respect to these rights and discuss any results or outcomes from these efforts - 10 pts
