Time and Motion

Paul Pfeiffer in Art 21

Student Learning Outcomes: To apply and show understanding of art terms related to time and motions as they relate to the work of Paul Pfeiffer.

Please discuss each of the attributes of time in relationship to a work by Paul Pfeiffer, these includes:

• Duration – length of time the work lasts

• Tempo – the speed of the video (you probably will not know this)

• Intensity – energy level of the video

• Scope – how much information does the video provide?

• Setting – where in the video taking place

• Chronology – order of events (what happens in the video)

Clarification: You need to use each of these six term in your answer. You can discuss a different work by Paul Pfeiffer to discuss each term or you can choose one of Pfeiffer’s works and discuss it using all of the vocabulary. Now, the TEMPO, you are probably not going to know this, however, you need to write, “The Tempo is unknown for _____________ video.”

Example Answer: The intensity or energy level of Pfeiffer’s video Moring After the Deluge, is low. The video show the sunrise and sunset which is not overly stimulating. (Do not copy and paste this into your document. Pick a different example, or rewrite this in your own words.)

Answer must be typed, must include the vocabulary listed above and uploaded into ecampus (blackboard).
