Every year, a large number of Chinese students choose go aboard for further study. For instance, in 2015, The Chinese Ministry of Education illustrated there were about 523,000 Chinese students went abroad. And over 260,000 went to the United States, 86,000 went to the United Kingdom, 42,000 went to Canada, rest of them choose to other countries(Business Insider 2016). After the COVID-19 broke out and spread to all over the world. However, many students hesitate between returning motherland or not.
Compared with China, many countries have not taken good measures to control the epidemic. Such as the United States, students still need to go to school as usual. Until a large outbreak of the virus, there are some native students verbal attack that COVID-19 caused by Chinese people unexpectedly. Some media were no bottom line offend and insult Chinese people (Juan 2020). After the COVID-19 broke out in the United States, trump said there was nothing to be afraid about it, and everything was under control. Probably by April, the epidemic had turned hot and disappeared (Global Times 2020). In the end, America government let all of schools shut down and turn to online classes. Some Chinese overseas students choose back home for health factor, some decided stay where they were because of exorbitant price ticket. As the epidemic continues to spread all over the world, the demand for overseas students to back home is soaring. The tickets that used to cost 30,000 yuan were sold for 100,000 yuan (Li 2020).
In addition to this, fresh graduates face to problem of employment or some part of students choose to take postgraduate exam. Every year there are at least seven million graduate from college (Textor 2020). The extended of Spring Festival break due to the COVID-19 will create a huge influx of people who are looking for job. And there will be more competition, probably one job will get a hundred people to contend. Police in Jiangsu province have cracked down on a new online recruitment scam. This criminal gang taking advantage of the fact that graduate are difficult to find jobs and they are eager to make money during the epidemic, induce students and to commit fraud through the Internet.
This year, the epidemic has not only affected overseas students and graduates, but also affected the senior year students. National college entrance exam is one of most important examination for people. The final grades determine whether a student gets into a good college or not. The CCTV news broadcast reported that due to the epidemic, the national entrance exam this year was delayed one month compared with previous years (Gandolfo 2020).
This special period is also a test for the students, not only for group of students, but also for the hearts of the whole Chinese society, because only all of the public is closely united can pass this special pandemic as soon as possible. As a student, the most important duty is to study well, because study is a student's mission, as long as through this special pandemic, everyone will see the light. At the same time, the country is our strong backing, every Chinese students must believe that the country will always stand behind, for all the Chinese people.
