Argument Essay

Why people use skin bleaching cream and what does it mean having a dark skin in the beauty world

For this final paper, I want you to consider something related to our course theme of “identity.” We have discussed many aspects of identity this semester, including gender, social, and racial identity. I now want to open this topic up to you so you can explore any part of identity that you wish. Consider something that has sparked your imagination since beginning this part of our course and form an argument about that topic. You will write an argument essay that persuades your reader to agree with your position using ethos, pathos, and logos. This paper will help deepen your critical thinking skills and also allow you to practice using academic research.

Writing Instructions

-Choose one of the topics below, or think of your own.

-In the opening paragraph, tell the reader what the problem is and what your opinion/thesis is.

-Use the body of the essay to support your thesis, using research sources that agree with your opinion and ideas.

-Be sure to point out at least one counterargument and refute that counterargument with your own research.

-Conclude by answering a question such as “so what?” “what now?” “where do we go from here?” or “what else must we consider in connection with this problem?”

Writing Requirements

-This paper should be 6-7 double spaced pages in length.

-This paper should have a minimum of six sources. At least four of them should be academic sources. The other two sources should NOT be CRAAP.
