HOW TO DO AN ARGUMENT

Argument/Persuasion Essay  Write an Argument or Persuasion Essay about topic

about which you are passionate.  If you are so inclined, try to use a subject based on

your field of study. For example, if you're studying psychology, you could write about why therapy is helpful to patients.

 If you're stuck on what to write, try choosing a side on one of the following topics:

Violence in video games/movies/TV.

Marijuana. Gun control. Capitol punishment.

Unacceptable Topics

 Please do not argue about one of the following:

Why a movie/book/TV show is the best or your favorite.

Conspiracy theories

The existence of “God” or other such beings.

Rough Draft

Due Date: November 30

Your rough draft should include what you’re writing about.

You should also state if you are using MLA or APA format.

Whichever topic you choose, you need to submit the 3 resources that you plan to use.

IF YOU DO NOT TURN IN YOUR SOURCES WITH YOUR ROUGH DRAFT, I WILL NOT COUNT IT AS “TURNED IN”.

Final Draft

Due Date: December 13

The essay must be 5 pages. (6 pages if you count the references page, 7 pages if you include a title page)

You must use 3 reputable outside sources.

Must be in the Third Person POV.
