Project Title
PROBLEM STATEMENT
Give a brief statement about why there is a need for your proposed project or
organization.
MISSION STATEMENT
Give a brief mission statement that succinctly states the purpose of your proposed project
or organization.
ENVIRONMENTAL ANALYSIS
Describe the current environment in which your idea will exist. What are the current
practices that need to be changed? What existing programs, businesses, or organizations are
doing something similar? How will your program, business, organization be better? How
hospitable is the current environment to your idea? How will you overcome obstacles?

STAKEHOLDER ANALYSIS
What people and institutions might have something to gain or to lose from your idea?
This might help you think about whom you will need to convince, or who might be enlisted to
help you with your idea. Who will be served by your idea? Who are your potential allies? Who
are your potential supporters? Who are your potential competitors?
BUDGET
Provide a detailed budget including projected revenue and expenses. Use a format similar to the
following (these categories are just for examples – use your own, most appropriate categories):

TIMELINE / ACTION PLAN
Describe the steps you would follow to bring your idea into reality. This can be in the
form of a timetable, for example:

• March – May 2018 – do this and that, etc.
Or it can be in the form of a sequence of steps:
• Step One: do this
• Step Two: do this
• Step Three: do this
The purpose of this section is to demonstrate that you have thought through a strategy.
Think about your stakeholders in relation to your timeline – who do you need to bring into the
project and when; who do you need to convince and when.
RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT PLAN
How will you get the resources you need? Will you get them from earned revenue?
From fundraising? From volunteers? Try to lay out your development strategy here.
