· The Movie I would like to analyze is: The Pursuit of Happyness

· Identify your first concept and BRIEFLY explain how it is relevant to your movie.

Attachment Theory states that a strong emotional and physical attachment to at least one primary caregiver  is critical to personal development.

In the movie, The Pursuit of Happiness is such a strong father- son relationship where the son (Christopher) has a strong emotional and physical attachment for his dad. (Chris).

Physical affection (hugs and kisses) and heartfelt moments mark their relationship. Chris repeatedly asks Christopher to trust him, and Dad proves that he's worthy of that trust

· Identify your second concept and BRIEFLY explain how it is relevant to your movie.

Your Answer:

Parenting Styles  can affect everything from how much your child weighs to how she feels about herself, so it's important to ensure your parenting style is supporting healthy growth and development.

Parenting styles are categorized based on two dimensions of parenting behavior:

Demandingness refers to the extend parents control their children’s behavior or demand their maturity.

Responsiveness refers to the degree parents are accepting and sensitive to their children’s emotional and developmental needs.

In the movie, "the pursuit of happiness" Chris Jr. takes the responsibility of caring for his son after his wife leaves him for a job in New York.

· Identify your third concept and BRIEFLY explain how it is relevant to your movie.

Your Answer:

 Perceptual Development/Perception

Perceptual Development acts as a filter between sensation and understanding. It is at the core of who you are, and it impacts your values, your beliefs, your feelings, and your psychology.

In the movie, "the pursuit of happiness" Chris teaches his son some values and to always believe in himself.  Chris said to his son "Don't ever let somebody tell you you can't do something. Not even me. All right? You got a dream? You gotta protect it. People can't do something themselves, they want to tell you you can't do it. You want something, go get it. Period."
