All postings (including replies to peers) are expected to be thought out, proofread for mechanical, grammatical, and spelling accuracy, and to advance the discussion in an intelligent and meaningful way (i.e., saying something like “I really enjoyed what you had to say” will not count). You are also encouraged to do outside research and quote from that as well.

Discuss with your peers:

Consider whether your peers have provided different analyses and/or responses than you did (or would, if it’s a different topic). If it is, raise some questions about their view that could lead to a good discussion about your differences. If your responses were similar, think about a problem or worry that could be raised about your views, and discuss with your peer how to address it.

PEERS RESPONSE:

Engage with the text:

- How I would explain categorical imperative is that people do different actions on their own, sometimes doesn't end good or bad, how I see how some kants defenders have trouble understanding its formula. I know it because people talking about suicide isn't good. They need to think before and see how it affects others and how it will affect them. People don't just think about suicide unless they're being bullied or teased in school or work. So for someone to be treated so bad to end up thinking about giving up on life. The reason that leads up to the conclusion of the text case of Kant defends is that you have to respect yourself and others. If you cant, do that, then people will treat you the same you're treating them.

Reflect on the theories:

- Yes, it can be a different conclusion because Kant was challenging for some defenders to have trouble understanding the different ethics in life. People need to stop bullying so there less suicide in the world. People need to treat others the same way they want to be treating.

Reflect on yourself:

- Yes, I agree with Kant's conclusion. Because if someone is hurting and feels harm, that is not good. We need to make them know they are safe. Yes, people like to see the truth, but sometimes the truth hurts people's feelings. Kant talks about how telling the truth can hurt someone and how the fact can make people suffer if they know the truth about some things. I think that Kant's reasoning is superior when it talks about suicide and how people don't respect themselves and how others don't treat people with respect and don't realize that words hurt. And if you keep using hurtful words, it's just letting people know that the easy way out of this is to be suicidal, and that's not okay.
