Application Questions for Personal Experience Report #2

 

 Choose one (1) of the following for Report #2.  The report should be 2-3 pages long (double spaced). Please print the question at the top of the page.

 

1. Describe a time when you were lonely.  Was it an example of trait or state loneliness?  Social or emotional loneliness? 

2. Think of a close friend.  Describe how factors listed as likely to lead to friendship apply to this friendship. 

3. Use the concepts of social exchange theory to analyze a particular close relationship or a friendship. 

4. Characterize your attachment style using one or a combination of the styles described in the text. 

5. Think of a situation in which you helped someone and an incident in which you decided not to offer help.  How did your feelings and situational influences differ in these two cases? 

6. Think of an instance where you displayed either verbal of physical aggression.  Which of the conditions that influence aggression listed in the text relate to your behavior? 

7. If you were a parent, what could you do to keep your children from becoming highly aggressive?
