Predicting Discharge Displacement
Introduction
The research paper will focus on the understanding of the terms and conditions in which to discharge a patient after a lumbar spine laminectomy. The surgery is major and thus requires an individual to receive proper care even after surgery to guarantee full recovery thus it is essential to come to the positive terms such as the inclusion of skilled nurses in taking care of the patients.
Current practice
I do practice nursing in the field of registered nurse (RN) and do cut across most of the other fields of nursing. However, as an RN I do deal with coordination of patient care, provision of emotional support and advice to the patients and their families, and educating the public and patients on the health needs. The study will focus on the coordination of the patient care in the health institution to help make sure that they do understand the significance of the health.
PICOT question (Population/Patient problem, Intervention, Comparison, Outcome and Time)
In patients from the home nursing service (P), postoperative care and attention at home to patients with laminectomy (I) compared to patients who do not receive nursing care at home (C) reduces the risk of related complications. best home care (O) within the first five weeks of care. (T)
Purpose of the project
The project will seek to understand the significance of an RN to a patient that is opting for homecare after the lumbar spine laminectomy surgery that is essential to assuring them full recovery.
Body
Indicate how the research studies are applicable to the project
The research studies are relevant to the study because they help bring in new information that helps supporting the existing knowledge. The fact that there is numerous contradicting information on the treatment and recovery of the lumbar spine laminectomy patients it becomes easier with the research studies that will help provide some guidance and clarity into the information (Kanaan, Yeh, Waitman, Burton, Arnold & Sharma, 2014).
Identify how similar methods might be applied to their project
The incorporation of the additional and relevant research studies will help in boosting the outcomes of the project. The measures will help minimize the way that they do manage the way that they do interact on a basis standard.
Who will be involved in the study?
The health institutions management, the patients, the doctors, and their families and home health care company will take part in the study.
What is the process for getting this project/study approved for implementation?
The methods will involve the preparation of the infrastructure, coordinating with the involved organization, implementing training, installing the production solution, conversion of the data, performing final verifications, implementing new procedures and processes and finally monitoring the solution.
Who would need to know about the project?
The management of the health institution, the patients, the doctors in charge of the patient and their families will be aware of the research. Yes, the research will be received by the Institutional Review Board (IRB) to help conform the ethical concerns of the research. The people involved will need to know about the research from the start and they will be informed formally to help prove the seriousness of the research.
Assume that this project/study was proposed to be done at your place of employment
Process for including stakeholders
The process for including and engaging stakeholders include involving stakeholders from the start and through the entire process, focus and decide the insights, challenging assumptions, use the participants words instead of paraphrasing and engaging the stakeholders in a wider perspective.
Baseline data collection sources, methods and measures. What will be needed to conduct the study?
The collection sources will include various sources which will mainly be the patients, the doctors, previous patients that have undergone through the treatment methods and their success. It is important to come to the positive terms that will also involve the external sources that will help improve the way that they do interact. It is evident that the methods will include electronic health records, surveys, observations, questionnaires and medical researches. The evaluation method will comprise of the outcome evaluation that seeks to prove the potential of the outcomes that will help shape up the way that they do result. The study will involve the involvement of various parties that will help make sure that the parties will have an easy time changing the direction of the result.
Define the post-project outcome indicator of a successful project
The success of the project will be a major advantage and it will depend on the satisfaction of the parties invested that will include the patients and the doctors. The patients improve their health and that will help prove that the project outcome is successful. The fact that the health will involve mainly a study of 5 weeks then it will be sufficient to wait for the duration to elapse before making the conclusion. The study seeks to confirm that the home healthcare for the patients is essential thus it is important to confirm its success when the expected results do become a success.
Summarize the proposed project/study
Patients discharged from lumber spine laminectomy do require additional health services that will help change the way that they do interact. The research will focus on understanding the essence of the need for additional healthcare that will help change the way that the patients do indulge in healthcare. It is important to come to the understanding that patients are in a poor health condition that makes it essential to come to terms that will change the way that they look at the information. The research will involve the hospital management, the physicians, the patients and their families that are invested and involved in the health of the patients. It is important to come to terms that the study will involve an RN that will help in taking care of the nurses and also the emotional advice to the patients and their families.
