To whom it concerns:
In terms of academics, grades, and other educational judgments, I understand that a GPA of 3.0 is required for the program. The early semester class I took earned me a passing mark of a C+. However, I believe this grade does not truly reflect my abilities in this subject.
I was informed that I was being dismissed from the program where I desired to continue my education. I was also advised that I would only be able to get one more C in the program and that the rest of my grades had to be A's or B's. I worked very hard to make up for the C+ grade. Unfortunately, the B+ I received in my last course did not increase my GPA enough, even with the extra credit assignment. I know I can and will do better in my studies. I had a lot going on in my first semester, with my livestock giving birth in less than desirable weather and needing extra care. I know that is not an excuse for the grade I received, but I did work hard, staying up late researching and reading for my assignments for the course. As a result, I know I can achieve and maintain at least a 3.0-grade point average.
If my appeal is not approved after receiving this letter, I will be disappointed but continue in hopes of gaining my Masters ‘degree. I sincerely hope I can be readmitted. I enjoy my experience and studies at Maryville University. Since I started classes at Maryville University, I have felt that the faculty and Instructors are always available to answer any questions I may have. Therefore, I would be appreciative if I could have a second chance to achieve my academic goals, by to continuing with my classes and program. In that case, I will continue to put in 110 percent and dedicate even more time to my studies to ensure I get the grades I need to be successful and receive my Master's degree in the field I have chosen and desire to work in now and in the future.
Respectfully yours,
Jennifer Franks
