APA Tips

Grammar points to keep in mind for formal writing

Avoid ‘I’ and ‘you’; rather, say ‘one may wonder…”

If you open a quote, close it.

Don’t use contractions (like don’t).

Capitalize as needed (in Educational Assessments the A should not be capitalized).

A quotation should be part of a sentence, not the complete sentence.

Do not state “in conclusion.”
