Indent the first sentence of paragraph and the remaining should flush left aligned. This is an example. The first paragraph is considered the introduction. Your thesis statement belongs in the first paragraph. Your thesis statement is your main idea and it sets up the topics for your supporting paragraphs. (For example, dogs are excellent pets because they are protective, smart, and loving.) Also, when ending a paragraph, good writers include a transition sentence to bring closure to the paragraph.
This is the first body paragraph. The first sentence of each paragraph should be indented and open with a topic sentence. The topic of this paragraph supports your thesis statement. (For example, Dogs are great protectors.) A paragraph consists of 3 or more sentences. These sentences give examples that support the topic sentence.
This is the second body paragraph. The first sentence of each paragraph should be indented and open with a topic sentence. The topic of this paragraph is the next idea that supports your thesis statement (For example, dogs are smart.) A paragraph consists of 3 or more sentences. These sentences give examples that support the topic sentence.
This is the third body paragraph. The first sentence of each paragraph should be indented and open with a topic sentence. The topic of this paragraph is the third idea that supports your thesis statement. (For example, dogs are loving.) A paragraph consists of 3 or more sentences. These sentences give examples that support the topic sentence.
This is the conclusion. The conclusion summarizes what your topics and paragraphs included. In some cases, it is ok to restate your thesis here as well.
