EXPERIMENT 2: MICROSCOPIC SLIDE EXAMINATION OF SKIN

The skin is the largest organ of the body. Its role is to protect the body. In this experiment, you will examine prepared slides of hu man skin.

PROCEDURE

1. Open the slide viewer to observe each human skin digital slide image.

2. Distinguish between the epidermis and the dermis. Also look for the dermal papillae, sweat gland ducts, hair follicles, and

keratinocytes.
