The authors identified the effects of marijuana use on the mother and fetus during pregnancy. The authors affirmed that children exposed to Marijuana were characterized by low birth weight, anemia, fetuses were placed on intensive care unitst, and preterm birth.

The article is crucial for my project as it explains some of the reasons why Marijuana should not be legalized.

The authors argue that approximately 2.5% of global population consume cannabis Sativa. Those who consume Marijuana complain of sensory distortion, sedating, euphoria, drowsiness, and feelings of excitement.

The article provides more insights into the need to take into considerations the detrimental effects of using Marijuana before legalizing it. The paper will provide crucial amount of literature that is crucial for my thesis.

According to the author's use of Marijuana can result in addiction cases among those who use it daily. Marijuana is associated with adverse health effects among adolescents, which can also proceed to adulthood. Furthermore, use of marijuana has to increase psychiatric symptoms, vehicle accidents and poor academic results. Marijuana also results in various psychiatric symptoms, such as schizophrenia.

The article is crucial for my research as it provides some of the reasons as to why Marijuana should not be legalized.

The author explains cognitive declines associated with the use of Marijuana. Besides, substantial evidence shows that Marijuana is detrimental to the respiratory systems as it is associated with obstructive and inflammatory lung disease symptoms. It is also suspected to reduce pulmonary function.

Information from this article will provide more insights into the adverse effects of using Marijuana.

Hopfer conducted a study to understand the implications of legalizing Marijuana among adolescents. The studies found that adolescence is at risk of developing marijuana dependence, developing a psychotic illness, and increased cases of school dropout rates.

The article provides substantial evidence on the detrimental effects of Marijuana use among adolescents hence should not be legalized.

Leyton argues that chronic users of Marijuana depict a form of psychomotor and cognitive impairments. Also, the use of Marijuana has been associated with differences in brain structure-function and connectivity. Besides, Marijuana increased the risk of vehicle accidences and accelerated schizophrenia.

The article provides evidence on the detrimental effects that Marijuana can cause. This will add more evidence to my research when providing reasons why Marijuana should not be legalized.

The authors explain the long-term effects of using Marijuana. According to the author's marijuana results in altered brain development, diminished life satisfaction, chronic bronchitis symptoms, and increased risks of psychosis disorders.

Information on some of the detrimental effects of the use of Marijuana provides crucial information for my study.

Reflection Questions

Question 1

My annotated bibliography meets these criteria. Since it has already been formatted into APA style, I would quickly transfer the bibliography to the references page. I also provided a summary of what the article entails, which could help me quickly identify relevant information for my research.

Question 2

The most helpful strategies when searching for credible sources were the use of keywords, such as the effects of marijuana use on pregnant women and adolescents. I also searched for relevant articles on scholarly websites such as PubMed.

Question 3

While searching for credible sources, the difficulties I faced were differentiating between a credible source and which source is not reasonable. I overcame this difficulty by referring to my class notes on how to determine a credible source.
