The research brought about was about the idea of older drivers being a negative impact on Miami traffic. Theory was that they do not cause traffic but be help cause accidents do to the usability to conduct after a certain age. This is something that is caused because they can no longer drive but their bodies start to have problems such as concentration, trembling and even their ability to stay alert. These suppositions were made from personal experiences with my own family. These suppositions have been proven and with the following articles you will observe wither this theory was proven true or false.

This article was found in Google Scholar as a PDF. The title of this article is “Critical Review and Analysis of the Impact of the Physical Infrastructure on the Driving Ability, Performance, and Safety of Older Adults” written in the Missouri University originally written in 2005. This article outlines the driving performance of an older generation in regards to their physical conditions. This article will be utilized to not only prove that as older as you get your body isn’t as used to driving, but it will also show that they are physically in need of driving but it is hard for them to do such since the body start deteriorating.

This source was extracted from an article found in google scholar. The article summed up can explain the idea of older people driving and the effect this has on Miami’s current traffic. This article will be valid for the research for it will show statistics of how many accidents are from the result of older adults or young adults under the age of 25. The article does not testify to the researches favor, rather it is a counterargument of what is trying to be exposed. It is important to show both sides to verify that the research isn’t bias and that the result is to simply reduce or eliminate the problem.
Guerrier. “ELDER ROADWAY USER PROGRAM TEST SECTIONS AND EFFECTIVENESS STUDY.” Home - Transport Research International Documentation - TRID, 22 Aug. 2002, trid.trb.org/view/724344.
Elder roadway user program test was found on the google scholar website. It comes from a report submitted to the Florida department of transportation research center. “The objectives of this study were threefold: (Task 1) to field test existing improvements or those currently being implemented throughout the state; (Task 2) to evaluate the effectiveness of two types of enhanced traffic control devices (a new font and new pavement marking materials); and (Task 3) to assess the feasibility of evaluating traffic control devices using simulation. The results of this study showed very definite advantages in the use of larger lettering on signage, as well as the use of wider pavement markings (stripes) and raised pavement markers.” (Guerrier) This article will be used to prove the main idea of the paper.
