Annotated Bibliography Assignment (25 points)
What is an annotated bibliography? An annotated bibliography is a list of citations to books, articles, websources, and documents. Each citation is followed by a brief (usually about 200 words) descriptive and evaluative paragraph, the annotation. The purpose of the annotation is to inform the reader of the relevance, accuracy, and quality of the sources cited. There are some excellent resources on the internet for developing an annotated bibliography. One of my favorites is <http://www.library.cornell.edu/olinuris/ref/research/skill28.htm>. Once at this website, follow the link for How to Critically Analyze Information Sources. This will lead you through a step-by-step process for writing your entries. Use APA format.
For this assignment your team will submit via Blackboard an annotated bibliography of
1. at least 1 source from the approved list* per member that will be used in your Issues Paper.
2. The annotations should explain what each reference will contribute to your paper – as directed in the last element of the grading rubric.
3. Each annotation should mention strengths and weaknesses of the source.
4. Each annotation should evaluate the author/s according to element 3 in the rubric. Don’t neglect to evaluate the publishing company or sponsoring organization if applicable.
5. Each annotation should consider the intended audience of the source.
