DUE: WEEK 10

This assignment requires you to develop your academic research skills and represents an early

stage of your Research Essay. During the creation of a Critical Annotated Bibliography you will

amass and assess materials before you begin to draft your Essay.

Each entry should include the reference and be around 250 words each.

Requirements:

• Construct an annotated bibliography of 5 research sources: at least TWO (2) must be academic; the other THREE (3) may be professional sources

• A source may only be used ONCE unless permission is granted by the professor. In other words – you may not choose 5 articles from one website or anthology

• The annotation should address: who is the author and credibility, what is the article about, why have you chosen the article, what are the biases, and how do you intend to use the

article. ENTRIES SHOULD BE 250 WORDS EACH.

• Your annotated bibliography should be critical in nature, meaning that it needs to discuss and analyze.

• Submit your work with an APA-style cover page ONLINE through SLATE

According to the researchers, the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as masks during work and in the community setting is important. To minimize the spread of the virus, we must follow the proper etiquette, practicing social distancing, wearing a mask mainly at work and public places. The Pakistani Journal of Medical Sciences conducted a survey that wearing proper PPE reduced the spread of infection in the community and among health-workers. Moreover, the use of mask prevents the spread of the virus and it can keep you safe from a direct sneeze getting into your nose and mouth. The authors studies suggest that the safety measures advised by the World Health Organization (WHO) especially wearing mask at all times in public places or at work is important to control the human-to-human transmission and serve as an important cue not to touch your mouth and nose.

This article discusses the preventative measures of using PPE especially mask. Research indicates that appropriate supply of good standard PPE is the first step in aiding the well-being of the health care workers and preventing the spread of COVID-19. The Indian Journal of Community Health reviewed the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and the different kinds and uses of mask. The results were surveyed that every mask has its own design feature, material performance, and use desirability depending on its use. Also, based on vulnerability, purpose of use, chance of exposure, and setting. Therefore, this article is useful because it includes the roles and uses of each kind of mask to reduce the spread of the virus.

A study exploring that mask has potential functions that may protect the wearer or a person from the exposure of infection such as droplet and airborne. It has been recommended to wear mask at all times in general public even if it is a medical or non-medical mask. Research states that these studies have evaluated the effectiveness of the mask-wearers not to acquire viral respiratory infections such as Covid-19 virus. Overall, this article advocates that there is a variation in the effectiveness of medical and non-medical mask. That both are likely different but beneficial to protect the person from the virus and serve as a signal of pandemic.

This article is useful since it explains the use of wearing mask in public places.
