Annotated Bibliography

Write annotations for 20 scholarly sources (7 books, 13 peer reviewed articles) related to your research

paper. Annotations should be roughly 1 paragraph in length (about 150-250 words) and adequately

summarize the source: beyond the summary you must also evaluate your source. Include for each

source a proper bibliographic citation (in MLA style). You should seek out books, book chapters, and

scholarly articles. While you may inform yourself informally with newspaper articles, blog discussions,

and other popular media, you may not use these as sources. Nor should you cite scholarly or other

editions of the text on which you write your essay. Introductions to scholarly editions are certainly

useful and can offer a great deal of information (and I encourage you to use them), but for this

assignment I want you to seek out essays on your text beyond prefatory or introductory material in

editions. You should use the MLA International Bibliography, Academic Search Premier and/or PsychInfo

( available as an online database through the library), as well as bibliographies in articles, chapters,

books, and editions that you read. You might use GOOGLE Scholar, but you should understand the

limitation of this kind of searching. Turn in your electronic copy of annotations in a document ( docx,

.doc. or pdf) on Canvas. An electronic copy of your annotations must be turned in on the date due (April

13, 2017). This will be grade on a points scale- up to 100.

*I will also need a photocopy of the cover page of the books you are examining and the first page of the

journal article. ( I should receive an electronic copy of this information turn in to me no later than

4/13/2017.)*

You also need a one page introduction that briefly describes your research topic and the literature you

found (i.e., patterns, contradictions, etc.). The introduction should be 300- to -500 words.
