This article highlighted the difference that Ruth Bader Ginsburg made in the legal system and how she strived to make the world a better place. Ginsburg grew up dealing with discrimination and the mistreatment towards her Jewish family because they were considered to be a second-class citizen. This article expressed Ginsburg’s commitment and determination of change by being one of the nine women who attended an Ivey League law school while she was taking care of her husband who was diagnosed with cancer, along with the rest of her family. Ginsburg was involved in one of the first gender discrimination court cases, Moritz v. Commissioner of Internal Revenue. This court case helped her realize that the most effective way to fight gender discrimination towards women was to first fight for gender discrimination towards men, so they can understand why it is important that women should also have equal opportunities. This indicated the strong judgement and character that Ginsburg had to find effective ways to change the perception and treatment towards women and other discriminations.

This article highlights sex-based discrimination and how affects employment of law students, which Ruth Bader Ginsburg created a Women’s Rights: Sex Discrimination and the Law course. This was to expose the discrimination women were facing in law. Ginsburg then launched a casebook on Sex-Based Discrimination. This casebook expressed the importance of also including women in law to create a diverse atmosphere and character. This casebook also highlighted the importance of not involving the traditional gender roles within law and removing artificial barriers. This allows there to be an open avenue for more of equal opportunities between men and women. Ginsburg’s advocacy of women’s rights was then being applied within the Supreme Court. The Kennedy Court also produced some of Ginsburg’s dissents by creating a book that included five chapters of sex-based discrimination, sexual interaction within family, women and employment, educational opportunity, and women and crime. This article introduced the significance of Ginsburg and how she impacted the legal system.

This article reveals how Ruth Bader Ginsburg began her passion for advocacy with women rights and her significance to the Supreme Court. Ginsburg had a passion for women’s rights because she was denied a clerkship position upon graduation. This was due to a male who worked as the Supreme Court Justice being uncomfortable with having women within his chambers. Ginsburg began supporting women’s rights by creating the first journal that devoted to women’s issues in 1972, The Women’s Rights Law Reporter, and founded the American Civil Liberty Union’s Women’s Rights Project. Ginsburg then became the Supreme Court Justice and her influences of gender equality began to impact the courtroom. Ginsburg was working with many gender equality cases, and then she soon became a judge. Many of Ginsburg’s influences of change still impacts the Supreme Court and her work is still being utilized. This article expressed how significant Ginsburg was to the Supreme Court.

This article unveils the legacy that Ruth Bader Ginsburg created within her lifetime. This article expresses the challenges of Ginsburg and how she had to overcome different obstacles to become the advocate that she was. Ginsburg presented her opposition of stereotypical gender roles and believed that women should also have equal opportunities as men. Ginsburg being the Supreme Court Justice also allowed her to utilize her progressive interpretations of the law within the courtroom. In 2007, Ginsburg worked on a case with a woman, Lilly Ledbetter, who was experiencing gender pay discrimination. Ginsburg then worked with the Congress, which lead to the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act being passed two years later. This article highlights how Ginsburg tremendously impacted the courtroom and justice of people who were experiencing gender inequality.
