position." Physical therapy 96.7 (2016): 1006-1017.

The purpose of the study was to determine whether altering hand position during CRT favorably

modifies glenohumeral and scapular kinematics and to compare 3-dimensional glenohumeral and

scapular kinematics during CRT exercises. Circuit resistance training promotes favorable kinetics

protecting shoulders from mechanical impingement after paraplegia. An understanding of

kinematics can enable one to select exercises that promote healthy shoulders. The focus of the

article was on hand positions during circuit resistance training and how they alter kinematics and

affect the shoulders. It concluded that “hand position alters kinematics during CRT and should be

selected to emphasize healthy shoulder mechanics”1. The intended audience was people who

give treatment to patients with this pathology. Participants engaged in both modified and

traditional hand positions. The method used to conduct research was effective. The strengths of

the article were its ability to conduct a sufficient analysis of data and present a sufficient

explanation of the methods used to conduct research and the results. It also stated the purpose

clearly. Another strength was the inclusion of visuals. There were tables and graphs to present the

data collected. Its weakness was the lack of variability in the research subjects. Another

weakness was an inadequate conclusion.
