Annotated Bibliography
Stanley, G. and Thornbury, S. (2013). Language learning with technology. Cambridge: Cambridge University Press.
The author explains on how to integrate technology in classes as well as encouraging teachers to adopt new technology and other digital devices in their classrooms. Some of the technologies suggested include; social media, cellphones and online classes. He also outlines over a hundred and fifty activities for both beginners and advanced level learners on how technology in classrooms adoption can be achieved.
The source however fails to clearly and distinctly outline what comes first between technology and the learning objectives. Although these two are inseparable in education today; Technology should be used to complement Learning objectives through either by either broadening it or aiding in achieving the learning objectives in a quicker and appealing manner.
This source is trustworthy and will be used to illustrate various activities that can be used to implement various modern technologies into our classrooms
Hamilton, B. (n.d.). Integrating technology in the classroom.
Students today are more knowledgeable on how to use these technologies since they also own some these gadgets. It is therefore a big expectation from them that, their education experience will go farther with technology. Although many people think that technology brings about distraction in class. We cannot afford to overlook the many advantages of technology; making it an area that is worth investing in. According to the author of this article, technology can be used by students to maximize the power of technology in solving authentic and complex problems. The article also looks at the principles of grounded learning environments that are used in setting of foundations, assumptions, and methods associated with constructive epistemology.
The paper however fails to address the student’s expectations extensively or provide a solution to these expectations. Dressing how technology can be used to meet students expectations would have added a deep foundation towards the acceptance and integration of classroom technology.
I will use this article to demonstrate the power of technology in solving daily complex problems. And illustrating how we can kick out monotony from our classrooms by computerizing repetitive tasks as it can be trusted.
Kopp, K. (n.d.). Integrating Technology into the Curriculum.
In today’s technologically focused world, the dependence of technology in all fields is quite high and if at all the curriculum is to meet the job market needs, then, these technologies must be brought into the very classrooms that are responsible for the baking of well up future employees. However, the incorporation can be difficult especially at deciding on how to do so in meaningful ways. This book solves that problem for teachers. It contains Classroom-tested ideas aimed at helping and instructing this process thus making integration to be a seamless process. This book also contains standards-based lessons and topics on distance learning and virtual schooling, web quests, social networking, blogging and interactive games/ simulations.
The book is very clear on various tested ideas but fails to address diversity and difference in locality and methods of integration by generalizing the integration. There are many factors that influence the possibility of integration from an external environment point of view. What may be a solution in western countries may not be necessarily workable in the third world countries
This book is important to my study as it farther outlines various uses of these classroom technologies in real-life beyond the school life

The author also argues against the possibility of technology replacing teachers, gives an outline of a highly effective teacher and finally wraps up by outlining various ways through which one can tell if technology is well integrated in a classroom using 4’c’s examples include: Technology is well integrated if one is aware of when to use or stop using technology.
This article is informs my study on various metrics that can be used to determine if technology has been integrated successfully in a classroom.
Increasing Number of Older Adults Pursuing Undergraduate Programs
According to a statistical report released by the National center for education statistics, the number of older adults joining colleges and university has risen to about 45 percent against 40 percent reported in the year 2009. The truth is, this figure is expected to rise to about 50 percent by the year 2020.
My choice on this topic is intended to help identify the reasons behind the rise in numbers as well as help identify the challenges the old adults are facing, socially while sharing classrooms with 18 yrs olds. Lastly, this study will also help categories these numbers into relatable band that we can then focus to learn how going back to college is affecting their families and how much support they are getting from their family members, relatives and friends.
Throughout this study, I will employ the use of various statistical data available, I will also conduct interviews and collect field notes. The Interviews will in a large number involve some elder students who have joined various colleges and universities around. To better get a clear picture on social relationship between the two groups; we will also sample a few young students to better understand how the two groups interact.one group will fall into the category of 19 yrs and below and the elder group will fall between 20 and 75 yrs. The best time to carry out this exercise is daytime when the students are on session.
At the end we will be well informed on what to expect, numbers wise, in regard to the adults joining colleges and universities and how to the social relationship is likely to affect the rise of the elder students in varsities and colleges.
