Recommendations for Solving Low Rates of College Readiness at James Monroe High
School, West Virginia
Introduction
The theoretical structure is a critical concept in a research study that gives a structure,
holding or supporting the theory of the study by introducing and describing a theory applicable
in the research study as a significant conceptual framework. According to the author, the
theoretical framework is a structure that summarizes concepts and theories that a researcher
develops from the previous documented knowledge for the synthesis of theoretical background,
creating a platform for data analysis and interpretation of the meaning in a research data for
effective recommendations and conclusions (Kivunja, 2020). Furthermore, the main role of a
theoretical framework in a study is to develop a framework for research with a scholarly
foundation for sense-making and significant presentation of the data. Similarly, in research for

West Virginia, there are notable psychometric theories that describe the concept of human
intelligence that will be effective to provide resolution and recommendations based on the data
to management Low Rates of College Readiness at James Monroe High School. Thus,
accommodating theories such as Gardner's Theory of Multiple intelligence will be effective in
establishing an intelligence-based solution for the Low Rates of College Readiness at James
Monroe High School.
Theoretical Framework Overview
The Gardner Theory of Multiple Intelligence submitted that for one to accommodate the
full range of abilities and talents that people possess, individuals have the intellectual capacity,

and notable distinctive intelligence, including musical, interpersonal, spatial-visual, and
linguistic intelligence (Michele, 2020). Significantly, the theorist proposed seven notable forms
including linguistic, musical, logical-mathematical, spatial, body-kinesthetic, intrapersonal, and
interpersonal associations. Accordingly, the theory implies that learning and teaching should
accommodate learner-centric approaches to embrace varying factors that influence the
outcomes. Importantly, Logical-mathematical intelligence is critical for effective performance
and critical reasoning that is central to learning, teaching, and performance. According to
Kapur (2018), there are notable factors that influence the performance of students on
performance and readiness. The findings revealed that fundamental factors such as school,
environment teaching methods, learners' attitudes, and parental support are critical for effective
readiness and performance in a school. Significantly, the theory will be effective in providing
an effective area to support the need for effective articulation on different intelligence levels
and areas among learners at James Monroe High School for effective solutions,
recommendations, and changes for better readiness in performance.
Relevancy
In research to investigate the effectiveness of Gardner’s Theory of Multiple Intelligence
in learning and teaching, the results indicated that the teachers and educators are more involved
with students and creating an environment for learners to maximize their attitude, readiness,
and effective learning for overall performance. Similarly, accommodating the concepts of the
theory such as learner-centric approaches to managing the factors influencing reediness and
performance will provide a framework and structure, holding or supporting the theory of the
study by introducing and describing a theory applicable in the research study as a significant

conceptual framework. Furthermore, Gardner's Theory of Multiple Intelligence provides an
effective platform to accommodate significant applications in managing differences in teachers
and learners to create a common ground for effective applications in the research study.
Furthermore, (Duwal & Khonju, 2020) offered effective research to investigate factors
influencing students’ academic performance and learning attitude at Community Colleges in
Bhaktapur District. The study revealed that there are internal and external factors that impact a
student's performance. Thus, applying Gardner's Theory of Multiple intelligence as the
fundamental theoretical framework is critical in addressing musical, interpersonal, spatial-
visual, and linguistic intelligence for effective solutions and recommendations in a research
study for Recommendations for Solving Low Rates of College Readiness at James Monroe
