The social media’s growth is accelerating, this phenomenon is happening all cities, which
included China. Social media has a basis of user relationship that relies on product contents and
exchange platforms that depends on the Internet (Rong, 2016 p.5). This statement emphasizes that
social media has a close relationship with social and economic development. The development of
social and economic perspectives is the foundation of the emergence of social media growth. With
the social and economic development of China, there are many social media platforms that appeared
in China, such as WeChat, Tencent OO, and Weibo. Especially, WeChat has accelerated growth in
China recently, and it has an excellent influence on Chinese people. Therefore, the Chinese
government should increase the use of WeChat all over the world for reasons that WeChat has a
higher consumption than other social media platforms, WeChat is more convenient than other social
media platforms, and WeChat has higher safety elements than other social networking sites.
The social media platform, WeChat, should be promoted by the Chinese government
worldwide because it has reached a higher consumption than other social media platforms. It is
reported that the information consumption of China that is driven by WeChat arrived RMB 209.7
billion in the year of 2018, and the consumption of WeChat in the data traffic uses occupied almost
34% of the total users (Graziani, 2018). This statement shows that the development of WeChat has a
vital role in Chinese economic growth. Because WeChat can create the excellent value for China
because Wechat can do a lot of things by using an app, it can not communicate with people, but alaso
record life. We can also know all kinds of news through Wechat and buy many products we need

through Wechat. Many times, people can also relax themselves through Wechat games. Such a
versatile app will have more users using it. He will bring better sales to China. For example, it also
can produce a similar influence on other countries’ development. Besides, WeChat creates an
outstanding share of the overall mobile traffic in China, that is about 34% of the total mobile traffic
users, and compared with Facebook, it only occupies 14% of the total mobile traffic users in North
America (Graziani, 2018). According to the course material, Hughes (2019) also points out the
disadvantages of Facebook of sloppy privacy practices. The comparison of occupation of mobile
traffic users in China and North America emphasizes that Chines government should promote
WeChat use all over the world to increase the overall economic growth of China. The economic
value created by WeChat also includes the jobs created by it. It is reported that WeChat has helped
China to create almost 20.3 million job positions in the year of 2017, which has exceeded twice
compared to the jobs created by WeChat in the year of 2014. Combined the consumption created by
WeChat and jobs created by it, the Chinese government should increase the use of WeChat all over
the world.
Because WeChat is more convenient than other social media platforms, the Chinese
government should push it to the world to enlarge its value all over the world. On the one hand,
WeChat could facilitate communication with other people from all over the world. On the other
hand, WeChat could pay for everything by the money stored in WeChat. As an advanced messaging
app that appeared in 2011, WeChat has engaged in the Chinese market and gradually evolved into
Chinese people’s lifestyles, and it is reported that WeChat created almost 850 million active users
every month (Mittal, 2018). This statement stresses that WeChat has applied the powerful network

effects to rule other social media apps, such as WhatsApp, Messenger, Facebook, and Venmo. In
China, WeChat has created a mobile lifestyle that has a close relationship with all kinds of
perspectives of users’ life. Initially, users of WeChat could have close connections with their families
and friends. For example, most Asian American people started to use WeChat to retain connections
with their relatives who live in China (Mitta, 2018). This statement shows the frequent use of
WeChat in China, and it also will open the foreign market. Importantly, the use of WeChat in China
has opened up a platform for third-party developers. That is to say, WeChat Platform can provide
trade for users and users could pay for goods by their money stored in WeChat. Therefore, the
Chinese government should push it to the world to enlarge its value all over the world because
WeChat is more convenient than other social media platforms.
WeChat has higher safety elements than other social networking sites, and thus, the Chinese
government should push it to the world to enlarge its value all over the world. WeChat has the
feature that users could become friends only by receiving the request from each other, and users also
could share the circle of friends (Sermuksan, 2017). That is to say, WeChat is safer than any other
social media platforms. For example, the users of Weibo can see other users’ information without
allowance, and they can find anything they want from the Weibo platform. Differently, WeChat’s
users can see other users’ information and what they have published on the platform only through the
allowance. Without allowance, users cannot see anything of other users. Therefore, WeChat is safer
than other social media platforms. The development of social and economic perspectives is the
foundation of the emergence of social media growth. With the social and economic development of
China, there are many social media platforms that appeared in China, such as WeChat, Tencent OO,

and Weibo. Especially, WeChat has accelerated growth in China recently, and it has a great influence
on Chinese people. Extraordinarily, WeChat has a unique timeline of social network, games,
branded records. As a business transaction platform, WeChat also has a safety system to protect the
private information of users. Because the use of WeChat brings users convenience in shopping and
paying for, it should be promoted all over the world by the Chinese government. Therefore, as a safe
social e-commerce system, WeChat should be increased and supported by the Chinese government
to enlarge its influence all over the world.
In conclusion, the Chinese government should increase the use of WeChat all over the
world for three reasons. The first reason is that WeChat has a higher consumption than other social
media platforms. Both the consumption in mobile traffic users and job positions created by the
WeChat contribute to the growth of China’s economies. Therefore, it is the first reason for WeChat
to be enlarged to the world. The second reason is that WeChat is more convenient than other social
media platforms, especially the function of paying for goods. WeChat has engaged in the Chinese
market and gradually evolved into Chinese people’s lifestyles. The third reason is that WeChat has
higher safety elements than other social networking sites. Initially, WeChat’s users can see other
users’ information and what they have published on the platform only through the allowance. Then,
as a business transaction platform, WeChat also has a safety system to protect the private information
of users. Therefore, the Chinese government should promote the use of WeChat all over the world to
enlarge Chinese influence as a big country and expand the enormous influence of WeChat as a
popular social media platform.
