Dear MAYOR Brad Halpern,
I am writing this letter to inform you of the urgent need to find a solution to the childcare issue in Westlake village. A study done on childcare in the community shows that most parents are unhappy with the current situation, and the government is proactive in addressing the issue. Childcare is the most critical service in the community; however, at Westlake village, this is an issue because most of the children receive the lowest level of childcare services. The problem is partly attributed to the homelessness of some parents in the community (Boyd-Barrett, 2022). 18 % of parents are concerned about their children’s safety in the community. 21 % of the parents in the community do not have access to children’s counselors in the recreational parks. Because of the situation, most adults have no intention to have children soon, as indicated by the survey.
The childcare solution is to improve the children’s safety in the community, especially the recreational facilities. The childcare services should improve in the recreational facilities since it is convenient to meet most of the children, especially on weekends and holidays (Boyd-Barrett, 2022). Also, because of the low availability of councilors, then there is a need to increase the number of them, especially in the recreational facilities. These counselors provide psychological assistance to the children.
Children’s safety is one area that needs to be quickly investigated by improving children’s safety measures in the community. As the city mayor, your influence in the village and state can help the community to improve the situation. Also, your impact on the state congress can help increase the number of councilors in the community.
Sincerely, ,
Coral Trujillo, Harlan Felix Cal State LA Student
