Assessment task description

· This is the second (2) unit assessment task you have to successfully complete to be deemed competent in this unit of competency.

· This assessment task is comprised of a unit project.

· You must attempt all criteria to the required level, e.g. Assessment criteria mentioned in the performance checklist to be deemed satisfactory in this task.

· You will receive your feedback within two weeks - you will be notified by your Trainer/Assessor when results are available.

Applicable conditions

· This project is untimed except role-plays and conducted as an open book test (this means students can refer to textbooks or other learner materials during the test).

· You must complete the task independently.

· No marks or grades are allocated for this assessment task. The outcome of the task will be Satisfactory, Reassessment or Not Satisfactory.

· Trainer /Assessor must assess student’s practical skills, technique and knowledge as he/she complete this assessment task.

· The trainer/assessor may ask student relevant questions on this assessment task to ensure that this is his/her own work.

Task - Unit Project

Complete the following activities:

1. Carefully read the following:

This project requires you to review an organisation’s digital strategy and then make recommendations regarding the digital strategy.

Vocational education and training is all about gaining and developing practical skills that are industry relevant and that can help you to succeed in your chosen career. For this reason, we are giving you the choice to base this project on your own business, one you work in or a familiar with, or you can use the case study provided. This will mean that you are applying your knowledge and skills in a relevant, practical and meaningful way to your own situation!

It is important that you are able to access enough information for your chosen business in order to be able to do your assessment. As a minimum this should include:

· Workplace objectives, as well as policies and procedures relevant to digital strategy

· Relevant standards, laws, regulations

· Industry and organisation codes of practice and standards.

If you are completing this for the case study business, all of the above information is accessible through your Simulation Pack. If it is your own business then you must be able to access all of the above information.

As part of this assessment, you will also need to communicate with internal stakeholders. Your communication may be either directly with actual staff members or fellow students/your assessor can play the roles of relevant people/parties. Communication can be in any appropriate format (e.g., face to face, video conference, email) as long as it meets the requirements outlined in the Project Portfolio. More details are included in the relevant activity step.

You will be collecting evidence for this unit in a Project Portfolio. The steps you need to take are outlined below.

2. Preparation

Make sure you are familiar with the organisation you are basing this assessment on and have read through the necessary background information. For the case study business, this is all of the documents included in the Simulation Pack. If it’s your own business or a business where you are working or are familiar with, have your business or case study approved by your assessor.

Complete Page 4 of your Project Portfolio for this unit.

Read through the requirements of Section 1, 2 and 3 of your Project Portfolio.

3. Develop a plan for review of digital strategy

Complete Section 1 of your Project Portfolio. To do this, you need to:

· Review policies, procedures and objectives related to the organisation’s digital strategy.

· Develop a review plan that includes a suitable review methodology and review criteria, as well as objectives and information to be collected.

Make sure you have answered all questions in Section 1.

Submit Section 1 to your assessor for approval. You must have your assessor’s approval before you proceed to the next step.

4. Collect digital strategy review information

Complete Section 2 of your Project Portfolio. To do this, you need to:

· Source and report on the information you identified as required in Section 1.

· Organise the information collected and complete an analysis, including an evaluation against the review criteria.

· Identify any issues around interpreting the information.

· Develop a report of outcomes, findings and recommendations.

· Source and report on additional information to address findings and issues.

Make sure you have answered all questions in Section 2. You are also to prepare a report and presentation for the meeting in the following activity. Follow the instructions in your Portfolio.

Your assessor will advise you of the date and time of your presentation, as well as the students who will be participating (if you are completing this assessment in your RTO, not at work).

5. Discuss review findings

Using the report and presentation you developed, you are to meet with stakeholders to discuss:

· The outcomes of your review

· Issues interpreting the information

· Other issues

· Your overall findings and recommendations.

Make sure you seek feedback on the results of your review as you will need to use this in the next activity.

This can either be viewed in person by your assessor or you may like to video record the session for your assessor to watch later. Your assessor can provide you with more details at this step. Make sure you follow the instructions above and meet the timeframes allocated.

6. Finalise report

Complete Section 3 of your Project Portfolio. To do this, you need to:

· Edit your review report according to the feedback provided.

· Proofread your report.

· Submit your final report for approval.

7. Submit your completed Project Portfolio

Make sure you have completed all sections of your Project Portfolio, answered all questions, provided enough detail as indicated and proofread for spelling and grammar as necessary. Remember to submit all necessary attachments as indicated.

Grow Management Consultant (GMC) is a boutique management consulting firm focused on providing services for executive growth. The organization provides a variety of services designed to evaluate the leadership styles and effectiveness of current corporate managers. In addition to providing the evaluation, GMC creates and implements individualized leadership training courses.

Strategic objectives and goals:

· To have strong leadership, great performance, financial success, and responsibility.

· Make that all your financial activities, KPIs, and outcomes are in line with your strategic goals.

· Develop and increase current income streams, for as by opening a college to provide authorized leadership education (2021 vision).

· Make at least 20% yearly profit.
