Corporate training is an essential aspect of the growth and success of organizations. This is because the growth and development of a business significantly depend on the abilities of workers to develop positive behavior, acquire skills, and maintain knowledge and feel enhanced to perform their jobs. In the past, corporate training was considered an expensive element in business as it required a company to hire specialists for training and developing human resources (Bawa, 2016). The training aspect was expensive because companies sometimes incurred loss or worker productivity during training sessions, and organizations missed an opportunity of impacting any outcome on investment. Today online corporate training has made training aspects in organizations more effective, resulting in a modern workforce in companies. Online corporate training has created a competitive advantage for various companies. Online corporate training also helps companies in maintaining competent employees as it attracts talents leading to better performance of employees; hence, it benefits the business and the employees. This report explores online corporate training and its benefits to the growth and development of companies.
For companies to ensure effective online training, they should fine tune their training programs to match learners’ needs. This indicates that organizations should develop their training programs for maximum employee participation, including individualized learning ways and access to mobile devices. Also, the training programs for corporate online training should include video, content curation, and social evaluation opportunities. For example, sales companies should develop training programs with mobile access to ensure the process is cost effective and timely and prevent training from interrupting sales productivity (Bawa, 2016). The company should identify its overall training expectations and needs, develop training objectives, and identify the trainees. This requires the company to carry out a training analysis on the needs, expectations, and goals of the company. The organization should then emphasize course and curriculum details and include its findings on a corporate roadmap for training, which expounds the company vision, expectations, and training needs.
When implementing an online training program, the company will require new digital tools for designing, developing, and managing online training. The necessary software that can be used by the company in managing online training is a learning management system (LMS). The LMS is an organized structure that will help the organization in providing trainees with access to content, managing and storing the courses and assigning, delivering, and tracking training results. The LMS will allow the company to easily and quickly update training courses while offering robust reporting and tracking functions. For effective online corporate learning company will require an authoring tool, which is a package for creating different types of online training content, including simple learning courses to evaluations, interactions, games, and videos (Foshay & Hale, 2017). The company should incorporate individualized learning paths to ensure effective online training. The company should utilize baseline testing to evaluate skills each trainee has acquired. Employees who successfully prove their acquired knowledge should be passed from the training course. This will give employees time to use their training time in developing other skills instead of repeating what they have already learned.
For effective online corporate training company should conduct a webinar to make it for scheduling of live training classes, invite trainees and track the attendance of the learners. Webinars can be done from a computer connected to the internet using an iSpring account. When broadcasting the training sessions, the company can share training presentations, screen, and video to acquire immediate feedback from the employees. Companies should provide learning certification to enhance the effectiveness of online corporate training. Learning certification programs are a significant way of recognizing individual achievement and are an essential differentiator for career enhancement (Foshay & Hale, 2017). Companies using LMS will easily acquire certifications because LMS will automatically provide a certificate to the learner once the learner has completed the required training course.
Also, for effective online corporate training, companies should develop a blend of various learning experiences by considering how multiple types of content can be utilized in engaging learners. Companies should use iSpring Suite to incorporate elements of the video to welcome learners and online lectures. The company should also include manuals, and job aids in form of e-books, skill or game demonstration, interactive games to evaluate baseline competency level of learners, and final evaluation. Companies should make e-learning a game to enhance the effectiveness of the learning. Developing a well-crafted gamified training experience will help in challenging learners through interactions and participation. The use of iSpring Suite enables firms to turn their online presentations into customized interactions and questions. Practicing the communication skills of the training team is essential to make online training effective. This is important in the online training of sales and customer service personnel. The use of iSpring Suite helps in creating real communication simulations consisting of evaluations, branching, and real-time locations and characters.
According to Lovcheva, Konovalova & Simonova (2019). Online corporate training is expensive as LMS account costs 38% of the average budget of learning tech. This translates to an annual expenditure of $70, 614 in online training. Although online corporate training requires a high amount of money, companies should implement an effective pricing strategy for training. Various ways can be used by companies to determine their pricing strategy. This includes a pay-per-learner where a company will have a fixed cost for a fixed number of trainees and pay-per-active learners where the firm will have a fixed price for the number of trainees who utilized LMS in the billing cycle. Also, companies can use subscription where they set cost depending on the number of characters chosen, pay-as-you-go, where firms will pay for features used.
Open source can be used to determine the cost of online training where companies have free access to the LMS program and should set up, customize, and host. The company management should consult other business partners to choose the appropriate pricing strategy for online training of the company (Lovcheva, Konovalova & Simonova, 2019). If a company has a stable number of learning audiences, it can use a pay-per-learner strategy. A company with a smaller learning audience than the total worker headcount should use a pay-per-active learner plan. A firm with robust IT abilities should customize free open source software like Moodle. An organization that does not expect to utilize advanced features of LMS should use a pay-as-you-go plan. Companies should buy only services they will employ during the first year of online training and carefully monitor the number of learning audience to save money for online training.
The use of corporate online training has improved the training of employees on firms. This is because online training has made company training convenient and flexible as online classes are able to be accessed anywhere, anytime, and on any device, either a computer or smartphone. This allows learners to choose their learning paths as they can learn in place and time of their choice. Also, online corporate training allows effective training of a multilingual workforce as it ensures training programs are provided in the native language of the trainees. E-learning materials are easily translated and localized to meet the demands of multilingual personnel of a company (Bawa, 2016). Online corporate training ensures that the quality of training is consistent. This is because online training format is trainer independent; hence, it ensures deliverance of high quality training. The delivery process of online training can be standardized, and this enables trainers to train employees better. Online corporate training ensures that the workforce is educated in an eco-friendly way as it minimizes the use of paper, ensuring the conservation of forests. This indicates that the use of online corporate training benefits companies, employees, and the community; hence, companies should implement and adopt online training programs.
