This essay asks to take a step back from the position paper(attached in other word document). In that piece, you took a stance and supported it but in a more subjective way. In this assignment, you are looking at the topic and argument that you are making with a broader and objective stance. When writing this essay, consider the information you have gathered over the duration of this course on the overarching topic. Using that research and expanding upon it, consider the questions posed in this week’s lesson. What patterns are surfacing about the topic? How does this all fit together? How does it fit into a larger, interdisciplinary topic? You need clearly state your argument and then support that argument with research. In the last assignment, you wrote a position paper where you took a stance and essentially showed one side of a position clearly. In this assignment, you will outline both sides of the argument that you are making.
Your argument should be something that is debatable, that is narrow enough to fit the parameters of the assignment, and supportable by research. You are not just summarizing an idea or topic, you are reviewing the research and then formulating an argument based on your findings.
