Outline for Analysis of Argument Essay

I. Introduction paragraph

A. In the article “What Else Can I Do to Get the School Supplies My Students Need?” the author discusses that, textbook still plays an important role in today’s class.

B. Thesis statement: Online source or online textbook has more benefit then the paper textbook.

II. Body Paragraph 2-4

A. Topic sentence: The author claims that physical textbook could helps student read and understand better.

a) My Opinion: Online textbook can also take note and highlight information, also making paper for textbook is not good for our environment.

b) Quotation: “First, assigning reading helps with reading comprehension and fluency.

B. Topic sentence: The author says that textbook can be read without internet, which is more convenience.

a) My Opinion: There is no need to concern internet in nowadays society, Wi-Fi is everywhere. As we know textbook in U.S. are so thick and heavy, which is so hard to carry around.

b) Quotation: A textbook doesn’t require a broadband internet connection at home; it is portable, “fixed”.

C. Topic sentence: The author thing computers are expensive, and it is hard to collect data.

a) My opinion: Buying textbooks for each class are also expensive for students. Student can use computer to have more sources to study.

b) Quotation: “If I send each student home with a computer (or have them use their phones), I would need to collect and curate my own digital content for each course I teach.”

III. Final paragraph:

A. I’m supporting the point that stop using physical textbook. Its consuming woods to make textbooks. In one hand, online textbook can do everything that student do on the physical textbook. In the other hand, using computer to study is more convenience and more efficiency for student to learn.

B. The consequence of we keep making and using physical textbook in school may affect the earth’s environment.
