Respond to each of the following prompts. Responses should contain approximately 75-150 words.

A. Many critics condemned Frost for not being “enough” of a Modernist. After reading his poems, do you agree? Why or why not?

B. T. S. Eliot incorporated the voices of actual people he overheard or talked with. Why does he use the voices of actual people, versus his own vocal impersonations of other people, do you think? What’s the effect of his using the voices of actual people in his poetry?

C. Fitzgerald wrote in a letter to his editor: "You see, I not only announced the birth of my young illusions in This Side of Paradise but pretty much the death of them in some of my last Post stories like 'Babylon Revisited'".  After reading "Babylon Revisited," what do you make of this comment? What might these "young illusions" might be, and where do you see their "death" in this story?
