B. What is the significance of the fact that Henry’s “red badge of

courage” comes not from being wounded in battle but from being

assaulted after deserting his regiment?

C. Stephen Crane never fought in the Civil War, yet Red Badge of

Courage is considered the most realistic literary depiction of the

Civil War to this day. What are your thoughts on this? Does this

speak to the nature of Realism? Would you consider this realistic?
