1. How do situational analysis, strategy formulation, value-adding service delivery, value-adding support strategies, and action plans relate to one another in health care?

2. How are strategies translated into action plans for health care organizations?

3. Describe the idea of "balanced scorecard" in modern health care delivery. How did this idea emerge in U. S. medicine? Do you support this approach to measure health care performance? Why, or why not?

Throughout this course, we developed what is known as a strategic management action plan (MAP). When all the strategic planning is done and the written strategic plan document exists, then it is time for management action planning based upon our strategies. This is where so many healthcare organizations of all types fall short. The same level of effort that went into creating the strategic plan needs to continue as we take action, measure progress, and reassess over time. Management action planning is a step-by-step approach developed to help healthcare leaders plan the action steps that will lead to positive change for our organizations.

The strategic plan sets the direction for us, and our MAPs get the work done, turning strategy into reality. Developing a MAP is a six-step process, and you will actually be practicing this MAP process as you create your course project. Some suggested MAP topics are provided here, and you are certainly free to propose your own topic if you like, perhaps something that truly needs to be addressed in your own organization. You may even find the MAP to be a valuable tool as you lead your own organization.

The project should consist of a minimum of five double-spaced pages and should be in APA format. Remember to cite any outside sources used to avoid plagiarism.

Suggested healthcare subjects include the topics below:

· Nursing Recruitment and Retention in Health Care

· Continuing Education Challenges

· Patient Care Technology

· Staff Safety on Duty

· Patient Safety in Hospitals

· Stakeholder Relationships

· Community Education Programs

· Disaster Preparedness

· Medical Director Involvement

· Quality Improvement Program for Health Care

· Patient Satisfaction

· Rural Health Issues

· Funding for Hospital Programs

· Neonatal/Pediatric Services

Book being used for question 1-3 and Paper is Ginter, P. M., Duncan, W. J., & Swayne, L. E. (2013). Strategic management of health care organizations (7th ed.). San Francisco, CA: Jossey-Bass.

The response for questions 1 and 2 should be at least 200 words in length. The response for question 3 should be at least 500 words in length.

Research the ethical and legal issues surrounding world health. Consider your stand on universal health care and what our responsibilities are.

In an essay, respond to the following bullets:

· Is universal health care a human rights issue? Is health care a basic human right or a luxury for only those with the resources and means to access it?

· What is the World Health Organization (WHO)? What is the purpose and mission of the WHO? What are some of the areas of health and health care that they advocate for and advance? What are some of the challenges identified by the WHO in bringing universal health care to countries around the world?

The essay must be a minimum of two pages in length, not including the title and reference page. You are required to use at least one outside source. All sources cited, including the textbook, must be cited and referenced according to APA standards.

Book being used for Research Paper is Fremgen, B. F. (2016). Medical law and ethics (5th ed.). Upper Saddle River, NJ: Pearson.
