Finding Disorders in DSM V & Screenshot/DSM V - How to find and screenshot Clinical Criteria.pdf

The following is a guide in order to find the clinical criteria for a specific disorder that you

have selected for your Research Paper.

The directions are as follows using a Windows based laptop/computer:

• First, Log on to the portal: myhudson.hccc.edu

• Once in the portal, hover over campus life using your mouse and then click Library

• Once you are on the Library homepage, click Research

• After clicking Research, scroll down and click Psychology

• Once you are in the Psychology tab, click on DSM-5

• Once you are on the DSM Library, click Section II: Diagnostic Criteria and Codes

• Once you click Section II, you will notice different types of disorders, choose the one

that you have selected for your Research Paper

• For instance, if my topic was about Sleeping Disorder, I would select “Sleep-Wake

Disorders”

• Continuing on with the example - After clicking on Sleep-Wake Disorders, this is where I

would select what specific sleeping disorder. In this example I will be selecting Insomnia

• As you scroll down on the page you will find Diagnostic Criteria

• Once you have the Diagnostic Criteria, press PrtScrn (Print Screen) once on your

keyboard

• Once you have pressed the button once, open up a new Microsoft Word Document and

click paste or Ctrl + V on your keyboard

• It is important to note that you will not be able to make a copy of the entire Diagnostic

Criteria which is okay. This is just for my reference which informs me that looked up the

DSM for your disorder.

Note: If using a mac computer, instead of pressing PrtScrn, you would press Shift-Command-4

(all three buttons at the same time). This will allow you to copy a portion of the screen that you

are viewing. In this case you would drag your mouse to highlight the entire section of the

Diagnostic Criteria. Once you have done so, a screenshot will be added to your desktop which

can be used for adding to a Pages or Microsoft Word Document.
