Reel & Crouch reports exposes sexual assault and harassments with the objective of the transforming sports culture. Reports bring to the revelation that one-third of sexual assault victims do not share their experiences and only less than 10% of college students that report sexual assaults. This means that more than 90% of the college students do not report sexual assaults which relates to the objective of this work that, there are sexual assault cover ups in the college football. According to the report, the sport has been breeding ground for sexual assault and harassment. In the article, reflect on the Jerry Sandusky and Larry Nassar scandals which shows that child and adolescent athletes are vulnerable to sexual assault on the hands of the people they emulate and trust. There are numerous cases of sexual assault that have been caused by the coaches. The article targets athletic organization, colleges and businesses with a view of the identifying victims of the sexual assaults and creating awareness among them on the need to come out and speak out what they have gone through. Upon evaluating this article, it has failed to address adequately the interventions that ought to be taken to address sexual assaults cover-ups. It is true that it reports that fewer than 10% of the college students report sexual assaults but fails to give clear information on why is this trend. Further, the article reports that sexual assault thrives in the sports environment but it does not provide detailed information on factors that create a conducive environment for its success. It is important if these factors are addresses so that relevant strategies can be taken to bring to halt sexual assaults in the sports.

The article presents a pertinent issue which objectively addresses issue of the sexual assault and rape on the US College campuses. The issue addressed is focal and relate to my topic on sexual assault cover ups in college football. When sexual assault and rape on the US College Campuses, then means that sexual assaults in the college football is also included. Mastropasqua covers various studies and reports that reports on the sexual assaults to the college students. On the start, Mastropasqua bring to our attention that institutions of higher learning have been rocked with report on the sexual assaults. In the article, author looks reveals that, a survey was commission by Association of American Universities in 2015 and released a report that showed that 27% of the female students in the colleges had been victims of the sexual assaults. However, even with serious incidences of the sexual assaults, Mastropasqua brings to our attention that former students of the Florida University files law suit against the institution in the manner in which it handled her sexual assault case where she claimed to have been raped by Jameis Winston (Former Florida State football star). There is possibility that the University handled the case in the manner that it wanted to cover up sexual assault case and deny justice to the firm. There are other series of the sexual assaults cases to the college students which clearly shows target students in this article are sexual assault victim in the colleges and universities. The article reports sexual assault is menace to the colleges and universities fails to report on the barriers to effective implementation of the policies that have been passed to address sexual assault. Additionally, article fails to address on the factors that specifically are contributing to growth of the sexual assault to the college students.
