Al-Andalus History of Islam In Spain.

Al- Andalus was the example of a strong city ruled by people who were really genius. In that wonderful

city was the famous Alambra palace which was a palace build in a mathematical -based- architecture

which was basically based on Pitágoras. Also, the biggest mosque in that time in western Islamic history

was situated in Al-Andalus and it was contributed by Abdulrahman. This city rapidly became a high

influential city and it was influenced by the Arabs and Islam. It’s interesting how Arabs came to Spain

and contributed a lot. They changed Spain in a hundred percent during the time they were in there. One

of the changes was the agriculture. They made the land more fertile and productive. They were trading

with the owners of the lands accepting an exchange of “renting the land for the Exhange of goods”

which benefited both sides. They also contributed in education because the Islam says the education is

the base of their religion which made the religion in that time have the most genius scholars. Their

translations a medical document and told where really important and even nowadays they still are. They

had information that other countries, societies and religions didn’t have and they were sharing all the

knowledge in Al-Andalus which became the capital of Muslim religion in Spain. Spain shortly became a

Muslim country with a lot of improvements. Just until the Christians decided to attack from the north of

Spain giving place to the famous “La Reconquista” which was the Christians trying to make Spain

Christian again. But this war was just a war between Spanish people with different believes (Muslim and

Christian). Christianity started reconquering Spain. They conquered the kingdom of Castillo and Aragon

but Granada was still Muslim just until Isabella became the queen and she basically reconquer Granada

and Al-Andalus with the companion of her husband. Making Spain unified again. The Options for the

Muslims in Spain were: leave the country, convert to Christianity or get punished. This situation made

Muslims scared and some of them easily converted while others were Christians just outside their

houses. Islam failed in Spain as well as Al-Andalus did.
