More Misconceptions in History

It was necessary for the slavery to be included in history for the generations that comes after to learn the problems that the Africans passed through when slave trade was being practiced. But these people who are writing the history books does not want to disclose everything since they want their books to be considered for use in studying history hence, the reason they omit sensitive information on the events of the past like slavery. Most of the books discuss the pilgrims since they are considered as the first group of people to settle in America. These were Native Americans but most of them died as a result of the diseases that were brought by explorers. The few who were left befriended the pilgrims since they did not have a society that will protect them when they need protection. So, the reason why pilgrims are discussed is that they are considered as the first group of people to discover and to settle in America.

Studying about pilgrims enables the learners to understand the origin of the culture of Americans since it is believed that they are the first group to settle in America hence developing the culture of the nation. The few Native Americans could not influence them and hence they had to change their way by embracing the culture of the pilgrims. Though in some instance some practices like celebrations were the culture of the Native Americans and was adopted by the pilgrims. Through studies therefore about pilgrims, it is possible to understand the origin of culture of Americans and the reason for the way they distributed in the country. Also, it helps in understanding the reasons that made them to move and settle in America.
