ALTHOUGH YOU'RE REQUIRED TO COMPLETE THE ASSIGNED READING, YOU ARE NOT REQUIRED TO TAKE A QUIZ OR TO SUBMIT A PEER REPLY THIS WEEK. HOWEVER, A LENGTHY RESPONSE TO ALL OF THE BELOW QUESTIONS FOR FULL
CREDIT IS REQUIRED. (20 POINTS).
EVEN THOUGH THERE ISN'T A QUIZ THIS WEEK, EXAM #2 WILL HAVE QUESTIONS OUT OF CH 7.
During this chapter, we have learned that there are numerous steps and requirements that are needed in order to get hired to be a LEO. The same can be said for most professions. For this week's discussion post, provide a detailed explanation for each of the following questions. The below questions are at times, asked during LEO JOB interviews as well as other jobs/careers. If you don't plan a career in LE, then provide answers to your chosen career.
Provide a separate paragraph for each question
1. What have you done to prepare yourself for your CHOSEN ( LAW ENFORCEMENT OR OUTSIDE OF LAW ENFORCEMENT) career?
2. Why have you chosen this career
3. Provide an example of when you helped someone.
4. What will you do if you don't get hired?
5. If your life or the life of someone else was in a life and death situation, could you take a human life to save a human life? Think about it. I'm NOT asking if you WANT to kill someone. I'm asking COULD you, would you, take the life another human if it meant saving your life or saving the life of another.
Look at happened today today in Texas where 26 people were murdered or just last month in las Vegas where close to 60 people were murdered.
That's a question that every LEO must be able to answer. However, that's a question that all of us need to think about because you might find yourself in (YOUR OWN PERSONAL LIFE) a position where deadly force might be an option. Look at the world that we live in and how many times there has been acts of violent crime, domestic or international terrorism.
It's a serious matter where an officer or a private person as yourself cannot over-react or under-react. Regardless of whether you are LEO or not, people can use self-defense, but it is not an easy thing to. Under-reacting might cost your life where over-reacting might get you fired, prosecuted, sued and ruin your life.
Must answer all 5 questions for your 20 points.

· Since I born in a business owner family, I would like to study in the business field and my future career hope can be an accountant in the future. My major preparation about to be an accountant is to take Accounting 1 and Accounting 2 courses in East Los Angeles College.
· It has couple different reasons that I would like to do the accountant. First, I hope to help my family business and if I can be an accountant I can help to do the money management better for the business. Second, I think I am good at numbers, and I am sure to be good at numbers can help a lot on doing this job.
· I remembered when I was in China, we had a mess up traffic light system in five years ago and improved a lot. I found many elderly cannot easily cross the road because the cars drove fast and no traffic light at all. I organized some people to set up a volunteer team to help them to cross the street and at the same time I sent letters to complain about the traffic light problem.
· I think it maybe a problem like “if my family business will not exist anymore”. I would try to search for internship position first and try to get in this field in the future. Moreover, I think it is possible for me to get more preparation like get the licenses to go into this field in the future.
· I think I cannot do that. For me, life is not easy to be wasted, if I am in a situation that if I have to die to make the other one survive, I would try not to do it because I do not have the preparation to die. However, if it is very important to mine I think it is possible for me to do it.

To be a teacher is what I really would like to do for my future. I took some child development courses and education courses in community college and plan to get an education minor in University of California. Also, I interned in the rural area in China to learn to be a teacher in the last summer.
I would like to be a teacher because I think education is the key to keep the society safe and strong. In developing countries like China, the people with high school or college education education has a huge income increase compare to those only have elementary school level. I hope to be a teacher to help more people to live in a better condition.
As I mentioned, I interned in the rural area last summer. This internship is meaning to me. It is my first time to go to a poor area in China and the school had a lot of problems, and some students even do not have their own books. It makes me think although some of them are that rich now, we still have the poor region need to take care of.
I think I will find another job instead. I think that as a human being, we have something want to do and something is good at doing it. For example, I love to play badminton but I am not good at it while I run pretty quick when I was in high school however I did not like to join the track and field team.
As a teacher I think I will use my life to save a student’s life. In 2008, we have a serious earthquake in China and many schools were collapsed. I remembered some children could be rescue because the teachers used their bodies to protect those children. I thought I need to train this preparation for the future.

The career i would seek in law enforcement would be to either be a correctional officer or a probation officer. The way I'm preparing myself is by attending college to get my degree in criminal justice and also studying grammar and proper way if writing because I'm aware there are written test and they have writing often when making reports. I have chosen these careers because I enjoying helping people. I like helping people to get out of trouble, to stay away from things that are harmful in their lives and to not repeat the same thing. An example when I helped someone was my brother. He was incarcerated at age 12 for being with people at the wrong time and i tried explaining as much as i can that if he starts this way and does not stop, he would be like this for the rest of his life. Thankfully he listened and stopped hanging around with the wrong crowd. Another example was my boyfriend, he as well was incarcerated for home home burglary and I told him that there is no need to take people's valuables, instead work for what he wants. Get a job of he wants to have things the legal way and I mentioned how he would get no life from doing this because he will get caught. He paid his restitution, completed classes and needed and now he's working making 14 an hour. I like seeing people better their lives and I would like to help others. What I would do if I don't get hired is try again if I can or seek into another job that involves helping people. I would feel sad knowing I didn't get the job I wanted but I would not feel discouraged and feel that I was not good enough. Maybe I did not meet certain requirements for that job. If my life or someone else's life was in a life or death situation I would take a human life to save another. An example would be if a person is harming someone else and it involves taking their life because they are too aggressive or is just not following orders, I would do what I can to save the other person's life. It's like when someone is hostage, you're not just going to sit and wait until something happens to them, you need to take action and save their life.
