A. Physical:

Child’s height and weight at age 5 is 109.2 cm, and 18.4 kg respectively. Evander has motor skills that include hopping on one foot, mimicking of movements accurately, skips about ten feet, jumps sideways and can kick a stationary ball straight for ten feet. His favorite activities include climbing, doing summersault and hopping, running, throwing and kicking balls. His favorite toys dress-up toys, building blocks, child-sized toys like food sets, ride-on toys and toys that promote physical activity. At the age of five, Evander receive polio, measles, influenza, measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) and Diptheria, tetanus, and Whooping cough (DTap). His regular physical activities vary from light-intensity movement (slow walking) to quite vigorous running and jumping.

B. Social/emotional

Evander interacts with individuals who gives him love, caring and protection. His relationship with his parents involves friendship and social play, lots of talk and improved physical activities. Evander barely associates himself with extended family members. Parenting style include authoritarian, permissive, uninvolved and authoritative. Evander in a microsystem associates himself with immediate family members and play with them frequently. In exosystem, Evander does not interact with others and does not play with them. Evander asserts power and control over the world through direct play and social interaction. At age 5, Evander, particular competence to describe himself as well as use of concrete terms such as “I am happy at school” or “I’m god at soccer”. By the age of five, Evander has developed a positive and negative sense about himself. He points out some of his specific good features.

C. Cognitive

The age of learning to read first sight words utilizes, I would say was 3. According to Piaget, the dynamic system of continuous change and exhibition of preoperational change occurs in the sensory-motor stage. Children learn that they are distinct from the environment at the sensory-motor stage. Egocentric children believe that everyone sees things the same way they do. Children's thought is no longer egocentric at the age of seven, according to Piaget, since they can see beyond their own point of view. Vygotsky conducted research in the south to demonstrate how people learn in a social setting, concluding that culture is the most important determinant of knowledge acquisition. Children pick up on their parents' opinions and attitudes shaped by their culture. Morality is defined as the ability to distinguish between right and wrong and to understand how to make good decisions. Children's experiences at home and in their surroundings have an impact on their physical, mental, cognitive, and social skills, as well as their sense of right and wrong.

D. Attachment theory

An emotional bond with another person is known as attachment. According to the theory, attachment serves as the bond that improves child’s chances of survival. Throughout history, I maintained a proximity to my mother for comfort and protection. However, I formed a strong emotional bond with my grandmother resulting in a secure attachment. I depended on her and after her death, distress and joy disappeared. I felt upset but after learning that she may not ever come again, I became frightened, insecurely attached and lacked reassurance from other caregivers. Based on the attachment theory, infants with caregivers respond to distress such as by reassuring them consistently, they feel secure in the knowledge that one can freely express negative emotion and will elicit comforting from the caregiver.

E. Challenges experienced during the developmental stage (2-5 years of age)

One challenge Evander has faced was throwing tantrums. If he could not have his way, there was major problems. However, we were able to overcome that. Another challenge he faced was “mine”. Being an only child, I’m guessing, everything was his. Well, there are occasions where he acts this way but we re-direct him with little exercises.
