“Core Values" Assignment

This assignment has two parts; a paper and a presentation using Blackboard Collaborate. See the course schedule for due dates.

Paper Requirements

Once you settle on your core values, write a paper on the subject of your own personal core values: what you expect to live by as a gerontologist, and what you expect to work or advocate for in a professional workplace where you have influence in making policy and procedures. Below are basic requirements:

· Five pages (or 1,250 words)

· APA style

· Cite any of the material presented in the module AND an additional four sources, such as published writings (including internet sources), interviews, or personal communication from other people.

Presentation Requirements

Once you complete (or nearly complete) your paper, prepare a presentation with PowerPoint slides (or other presentation software). Below are basic requirements:

· Presentation should be between 10 and 15 minutes.

· For a presentation that long, you should have between 10 and 15 slides (a rule of thumb is to plan on spending one minute on each slide.

· Script out what you will be saying, and practice it over and over, so you are comfortable with the presentation.
