You need to go to AEON https://aeon.co/ (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site. (just type that or click on it and you'll see) and select an essay, not a video, that you find interesting. Use the menu feature (Usually upper left). Click on "Essays." Explore a bit.
The AEON essay must be an "argumentative/persuasive essay. (It can't be a poem with animation video,;it can't be a scientific report. It needs to be pursuing an opinion, trying to persuade readers to think about this idea, this opinion.
You should identify the essay title and author (provide a link to it) and below that in one paragraph (100 or so words) summarize the main argument, the point and purpose of the essay. Below that paragraph, explain why you chose the essay you did. Why do you find the essay interesting. In addition to explaining why you find the essay interesting, analyze the speaker's strategies for persuading his or her audience. Ethos, logos, and pathos--especially pathos and logos (see handout). Clever examples and comparisons? Effective use of research. Images? Organization of ideas?
I would think 400-500 words will do.
