The approach used in the research article comprises an abstract above the text and describes the major topic of the article and existing literature on the area of study. The article has been written by individuals who are well conversant with the topic of research. The language used involves specialized terms following the discipline with a specific or narrow subject of focus.
Sudeh et al. (2020) conducted a systematic review on “Patient Safety in Marginalised Groups: a narrative scoping review.” According to the article, marginalized groups have experienced inequalities severe in health while increasing risks of incidents in patient safety. However, the minimum review has existed in analyzing, mapping, and identifying literature within the area to understand the groups studied about patient safety, the particular issues on patient safety, and what is associated or contributes to arising safety issues (Sudeh et al., 2019). They applied the scoping review method by conducting systematic searches performed in electronic databases.
Over twelve issues on patient safety were classified by focusing on represented issues on patient safety. The patient issues on safety were multifactorial, mostly on the origin of patient factors, health care system, and health provider factors. The authors summarized that marginalized groups, especially patients, remained vulnerable to experiencing various patient safety issues while pointing on various gaps. These gaps indicated the urge to conduct further research while understanding the marginalized nature of the safety of patients.
