ROLE Teachers hold primary responsibility for the implementation and development of Uncommon’s curriculum and the success of its students. Uncommon is hiring teachers in grades K-12, across content areas.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

· Implement curricula and activities to meet academic standards;

Responsibilities:

Provides site laboratory services to ensure optimal function, safety and condition at primary site; and may provide supplemental support to satellite sites, as needed.  • Receive and verify incoming chemical materials and supplies  • Properly bar-code and store chemical products  • Deliver chemicals and laboratory materials as requested  • Pick-up of properly packaged chemical and medical waste as requested  • Be familiar with OSHA and environmental regulatory compliance issues and security standards in the storage of chemicals and waste  • Assist with maintaining of chemical and medical waste storage areas.  • Maintain cleanliness of all lab services areas.  • Record and file purchase orders as necessary  • Participate in required training including but not limited to DOT, IATA Shipping OSHA and NJDEP/EPA RCRA Hazardous waste  Manages site Shipping and Receiving function  • Assists with receiving and inspecting incoming packages  • Assists with reconciling all received orders and receipts  • Distributes packages to end users in a timely manner  • Receives and distributes incoming mail; posts outgoing mail  • Prepares and ships outgoing packages, as required  • Supports filing records of all incoming and outgoing shipments  • Delivers critical cold packages to end users in a timely and efficient manner  • Assists with preparing, packaging and shipping requested packages per DOT / IATA guidelines.  Manages projects of limited scope and complexity within their functional area.  • Participates in collaborative departmental / discipline team efforts through assigned tasks  • Assists with maintenance or repair issues, contributes to scope of work, material and equipment needed, seeks direction for next steps, and coordinates with impacted groups  • Provides input and as directed, implements changes to critical / ancillary systems, processes, and schedules in order to improve reliability, and optimize labor utilization, cost savings and safety enhancements.  • Assists with the upkeep and improvement of facility interior architectural components and finishes; determines scope of work, material and equipment needed, anticipates next steps, and coordinates with impacted groups  • May serve as a Facilities site representative during interactions with cross functional groups, as required.  Provides excellent customer service and support.  • Regularly reviews, prioritizes, coordinates and promptly responds to work orders and service requests.  • Provides support on facilities-related issues. •HS graduate or acceptable trade certification of experience in combination of education and practical experience  • Minimum 1 years of experience in shipping and receiving of hazardous materials including liquid and solid chemicals. • Some experience with technical writing and document development / generation.  • Strong interpersonal skills with experience dealing with a diverse workforce.  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite – Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, and the aptitude to learn new software, such as enterprise business, building management, security, space planning and maintenance management systems  • Self-starter who is able to work independently with minimal supervision  • Ability to organize assigned tasks in a high paced environment and concurrently monitor tasks / assignments with others that may impact timely completion. Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and activities simultaneously.  • Effective time management and logical decision-making ability
