Adobe Premiere Pro Assignment

Prof. Carla Yarbrough

The objective of this project is for you to practice importing contemporary images, creating supportive text/graphics, adding music and creating a video slideshow that would tell a compelling marketing story around COVID-19 in Florida.

Assignment: Create a video slideshow that portrays your creativity using Adobe Premiere. The total run time (TRT) for the presentation is :30 (seconds). The theme of the video slideshow is coronavirus, COVID-19 in Florida. For example, you can focus on a specific region in Florida that is being impacted by high rates of infections or an increase in deaths. You will be able to select online images from news sources, social media, websites or any source that is needed to tell the story. This photo slideshow is for classroom purposes only and will not be used for public consumption; therefore, you can use any music track that fits your storyline or photos.

You will need to research sources to support your photo slideshow such as The Florida Department of Health (COVID-19 RESPONSE) website https://floridahealthcovid19.gov/ and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention website https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/symptoms-testing/symptoms.html

Your video slideshow must include the following:

1. 15-20 photos.

2. An opening graphic that introduces the theme.

3. Music throughout the video.

4. On-screen text/graphics must be added to help tell the story where needed.

5. An end graphic with your first and last name.

6. Upload your video to Canvas or upload it to YouTube as a private video and include the link.

Remember the following steps as you prepare to tell this short (:30) video slideshow story:

Making a pleasing presentation doesn’t require a bunch of steps. Do it in 4 simple steps. Here are the steps to create your video presentation for your assignment:

1. Style: Choose a style that reflects your theme. Create a video that matches your topic and content.

2. Pictures/Text Slide: Upload the pictures or text slides you wish to include in your video slideshow. Add a caption on your pictures to depart additional information. You can rearrange or shuffle the slides to your heart’s desire. The pictures that are chosen should be shot using your digital device.

3. Music: Music is another feature that develops a great video slideshow. Music in the slideshow will be able to trigger an emotional response within the first few seconds. You can choose royalty free music from sites such as: https://www.premiumbeat.com/royalty-free-music

or you can upload music that complements the flow of your slideshow. This will not be for public consumption: therefore, you can use any music you prefer.

4. Create a video: Finally, the video slideshow – your assignment is ready to be turned in. You can upload your video to Canvas or upload it to YouTube as a private video and include the link on Canvas.

Keep it simple and have a strong message!
