There are many things that have led me to pursue my advanced graduate degree. One major experience was when I had two instructors to really gave me a hard time as if they wanted to fell me. This gave me more strength and courage that I thought I never had in me. Also, there were some professors who knew I was a hard-working student and they always told me to keep my head up high and push harder. . I felt this was wrong in so many ways. However, I pushed myself to do my best. This is where the motivation came in on pursuing my advanced graduate degree to become a Professor that will help you along the way and not hurt you or judge you. The motivation has helped me to continue my degree in early childhood education.

For the past three years I have worked as an early childhood educator. At the Bolivar Head Start Agency my professional practice includes working with preschool age children up to five years of age. The passion I have for working with preschool children is to support children and their families. However, my goal is to focus on the family well-being and the children.  As an early childhood educator I plan to continue in my career to become an early childhood professor. Three interests that ignite my passion for education are meeting the needs of children, parent involvement, and positive support. My interest of meeting the needs of children includes: providing age appropriate activities, provides safe healthy learning experience indoors and outdoors. My second in the field includes parent involvement. Parent involvement is very important in a child’s education in life. It is important for parent to support their child by praising and continue to reinforcement. My last interest of the field is positive support. Positive support includes showing family and children. It also helps to promote the well-being with family of children with special needs. These topics are important to me because in early childhood education is to support children and their families in all areas. It also helps engage parent and other families and their children educational progress.
